Quoted from HELLODEADCITY:

I like Boddingtons Pub Ale been drinking it for a few years nowa legal pint not like a shy pint (14.5 oz) that that other 'can' sells next to.

Yes one of my favorites. I actually was able to find this one as well in a bottle in Penn PA back in the day to add to my collection. I have been collecting beer since the age of 17. I have just about a total of 10,000 differnt kinds of beer. When I got to 500 we started to peel them off the bottle. I started to put all the labels in 24in. by 36in. frames. Of course some are in boxes. Pictures will follow once I figure out how to upload them and take some. Yes, I have drank most of them at least 95%. Beer and pinball I truly enjoy. If I could only invest in a brewery some day. Yes, I enjoy the regulars beers (Bud Light, etc.) but I like to have some IPA's to dark beers as well. Great topic besides my other favorite Jack On the Rocks.

The Fruet was very good. The 5 Golden Rings wiped me out though. I think that was 13% ABV or something crazy like that, LOL.

Hard to believe a good beer from Orange County, CA. When I lived there the brewery called a Stadium brewery in Alison Viego by the movie theatre sucked.

How is the cigar City beer, have not been able to find them out here yet.

#657 9 years ago
Quoted from meSz:

JotR, it's a very weak Ale. Not bad but not a lot of flavor! The can states on it "Charged with Flavor" so I wonder if the cans will have the "widget" in it that disperses nitro upon opening the can. If this is the case it would make it a creamier ale and may provide the much more needed flavor.
Here's a beer I had that has a lot of flavor and is very smooth to drink. . . .

IMG_4088[1].JPG 150 KB

I loved the Goose before Budweiser bought them out. I feel it's changed and not the same. Honkers Ale and The Christmas Ale I remember getting in Holiday 12 packs at Trader Joes back in the day before they became available everywhere now. Still have a Bourbon Stout original receive in fridge before but out. I will post when I try it.

Quoted from sd_tom:

Moose drool is big sky brewing.. You can get it here in California. I'm not an American Brown style fan. A friend got me a northern brewer home brew kit called "Caribou Slobber" that I guess is a clone. Didn't like that either, but if you homebrew that could be an option.
Starting to realize that Shiner Cheer doesn't make it out to CA. Found some in Georgia last year and despite being apprehensive, my wife and I liked it.

Moose Drool I dislike and don't understand the big crave and see it on draft out here over the past year or more.

#660 9 years ago
Quoted from meSz:

If it's any consolation AB ruined Rolling Rock as well. Rolling Rock was never a great beer but it wasn't bad. Once AB bought them something changed! I was hoping when InBev bought out AB this would change as InBev has some great beers but nothing as of yet!

Agreed, I noticed that as well. Just not the same taste in RR with cheesesteak anymore.

#661 9 years ago

Recovering from the end of the flu so starting off lightly back to old time favorites while watching the hockey game. I remember the bumper sticker I had on the back of my jacket in high school, "the Moose is loose"

Quoted from jesster64:

Jackontherocks, you ever go to the mall in scottsdale(fashion mall I think). Bar on lower level claims it has most beer selection on tap in the world. I went there once, impressive. I big tap island in middle of restaurant you walk around and just pick which beer catches your eye.
As for blueberry beer, sounds good, smells good, but never again. Blueberries are for pancakes, pies, or muffins

Yeah it's called the Yardhouse,it's a chain restaurant. Was big when it first opened but most of the beers are pretty common to me. They also have one in Glendale by hockey stadium. In Tempe they opened a different restaurant called World of Beers. It's alright as well but best to by at Total Wine. I have been collecting for many years but the industry has grown so much it's hard to keep up with all the new ones these days.

Hard to believe an Orange County beer made it to VA, I use to live in the overrated OC and never found an OC brewery worthy when they first started curious how this one tastes.

Quoted from Dono:

If you like wheat beer, Schneider Weiss Original is the best Hefeweizen I'v ever had... pour it into the proper tall glass, take the last 1/2 ounce in the bottle, swish it around and then poor on top... swishing it around collects all the unfiltered goodness, and adding it to the top allows it to blend fantastically. Do NOT drink ultra cold either... cool vs cold unlocks all the great flavor of this beer.

I like that brewery and not a wheat fan

Quoted from mcluvin:

Victory 6 packs are B1G1F this week at Publix. I've been wanting to try the Sour Monkey. It's pretty good, though I wouldn't mind a bit more sour. I'm surprised it is 9.5% ABV. I can't taste it.
[quoted image]

I liked the beer by them called Hop Devil but can’t find anymore out here in AZ. I discovered it when it first came out many years go, is it still available?

#2235 3 years ago
Quoted from mcluvin:

They still sell it at my Total Wine. I'm kinda surprised that my Publix has 2 of their 9.5% ABV beers, but not that.

Yes use to get it there but now they only carry 3 of their beers

I agree I was hoping for more flavor from a bourbon barrel scotch ale.
This is one of my all time favorites. Bought a case at Shangys Beer Heaven in Emmaus after the Allentown Pinball show a few years ago.
Only have a couple left.
It is amazing !!!

Nice have not seen that one, will look for it.

Have a local pub here in CA that has it on tap all the time .... till COVID F things up!

I usually drink during the Hockey playoffs for my Penguins (since same color as my team) but early exit this year so have Them during the remaining teams in the playoffs as still watch the games.
