Couple tasty ones from treehouse. Creamsicle was really good!

We did a little Bourbon County vertical last night. The 2017 seemed to be the sweet spot.

I’m going to break out a 2014 and a few other nice cellared beers tomorrow. I’ll post after I’ve sampled them.

I got to try all of the Bourbon County 2022 variants today. As always, they were outstanding. Here's how I ranked them:
Barleywine
30th Anniversary
Biscotti
Original
Coffee
Proprietor
Sir Isaac's

I’m curious to hear about your 2014. The 2015 we drank was a bit bitter like dark chocolate. Maybe even a touch tart.

I think coffee is the only variant I’ve had. It was pretty great as I recall.

Anyone in eastern Pa should stop by Capones in East Norriton (next to Norristown and King of Prussia) tomorrow or over the weekend. Lots of the beers will still be on tap next week. The owner Matt is a true beer aficionado. He buys and ages special kegs of amazing beer. Their food is also top notch. Check out this draft list! Beer Heaven!!

Lots of kegs aged 10 years. 2009 Dogfish World Wide Stout…. He kept that barrel cold for 13 years!

All year long there is always great beer on tap but Matt kicks it way up to another level for Black Friday.
Try the Texas Gold Wings if you ever make it there. They are the best wings that I’ve ever had. Friends that I’ve taken there agreed.

Nice Sign. Put some white duct tape on the power cord and it will be way less visible.

Newcastle brown ale was my everyday of the week beer for many many years Then unfortunately they stopped importing it and brewing of the American market product was moved to Lagunitas in CA in 2019. They changed the recipe and I don’t like it. It’s a damn shame! Can anyone get the original anywhere in the US or Canada?

Black Friday
These are the variants we got down south.
Was able to secure thirty bottles.
I try to stock up because it dries up fast around here.

In the best beer house of the city

Quoted from Axaios:

In the best beer house of the city [quoted image]

St Bern ABt 12 is one of my favorite beers. I was fortunate as it was continuously on draft for almost 10 years at a pub a few miles from my house. Unfortunately the place changed hands during Covid lockdown and it’s been gone for about two years.

The place was a sports pub that opened early for soccer fans so they could see the international matches. For many years they had a 1/2 price draft beer / half price Appetizer special on Sundays from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. We would go get a couple Abt 12’s ,a pound of mussels with garlic bread toast points and the bill would only be $12plus a tip for the bartender. Best Sunday lunch ever!
Just make sure that you ate some breakfast early before going or you would leave catching a Wicked Buzz!

It's one of my favourites beers too, among many others Fortunately there are lot of options of high quality beers out there.
For half price draft St Bern I would have been there every day

Very nice!

I’m a bit of a beer hoarder. Years ago, My local beer store owner didn’t want to deal with the bourbon county hassle. People would call from other states asking if they could camp out on the sidewalk. He didn’t want to deal with it and just told everyone that he wasn’t getting any.

Starting back in 2012 he would sell a case to each of 4 or 5 of his best customers who he knew were fans of it. $106 plus tax for (24) 12 ox bottles. A true bargain. This ended when they switched to much higher production and the larger bottles and he just sold singles.

There is so much made now and so many other highly regarded barrel aged beers anything other than the Rare variants sit on the shelf for at least 1-2 years. You can buy them anytime.

Has anyone had Free Will Ralphius barrel aged stout? The first year they brewed it it was aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels. Easily the best draft beer I have had in my life. Very smooth with a perfect note of bourbon/toasted marshmallow. YUM!
It’s brewed 20 min up the road from me and the variants this year were pretty impressive.
Bourbon county is still my favorite but beers like these sponged up a large part of what once was a very limited barrel aged beer market.
