Quoted from Bax1:how is it?
Not bad at all. Just a tad too much spice for me but I think if you were to cellar it for a few years it would mature very nicely!
Quoted from Bowlingpin:Looking forward to trying this years GIBS

I picked up the regular, cherrywood and this Kentucky Christmas Morning.

Hear hear!
Quoted from EJS:Time to stock up. Apparently they get better with age and expire in 5 years hmmm
[quoted image][quoted image]
They don’t “expire”. The active yeast they use apparently stops fermenting and the beer will start to break down around 5 years. If you cellar them for 5+ years you’re taking a chance that it won’t be good.

I’m currently off beer for the moment but I’ll definitely break down before this beer does.
I had to start to ration my Christmas beer . I was burning through all of the delicious stouts and Christmas ales.
how was that love me tender? that sounds up my alley.
I'm trying to get through some summer IPA's still and mixing in stouts. have some bangers I am looking forward to this season.

LMT was interesting as it reminded me of Goldenschlager in the sense that it had flakes floating in it. Instead of gold flaked it was carrots. Overall tasted like spice cake but not overly sweet. Would certainly recommend.
Quoted from OSUBuckeye98:Tis the season

Yes it is …. Diving into the Bruery’s 12 Days of Christmas case.

Sooo good. I’m still working through my last trip there..my wife made so much fun of me bubble wrapping the individual bottles until I let her have one and her only comment was “that’s not fair”

Some of these bottles survived a suitcase mishap that looked like it was run over by a 747 on a taramac. I had to replace the suitcase but the bottles were fine. That’s the only thing that I cared about!
It is a special beer.

Enjoy it while you can. The brewery is on hard times. First they had a fire and now they don’t have enough monks to produce the beer.

I’m surprised the other monasteries are not in the same predicament with having enough monks. Makes me wonder if they will revert to being able to produce outside of the monastery walls.
Good to be back East

Hmm…at 5gal batches / 50ish beers a batch, they’re probably more rare than GB toppers…maybe I should!

Quoted from way2wyrd:How's the utopias was? I haven't opened mine
The World Wide Stout wasn’t bad. Nothing fantastic.
The 2021 Sam Adams Utopias, haven’t opened yet.
and since you didn’t ask……. So far I’ve had the 150 variant of BCBS and it was VERY GOOD.

Pm coming your way.
Got this today. More so for nostalgia because the CEO of the company that I Work for was the commander if the Inspiration 4 space mission. They took 60 lbs of hops into orbit with them. Samuel Adams used those hops to make this beer. Haven’t tried it yet but expect to be a typical IPA.
