Wish I had more Pinball to go with the beer, but I am traveling for work. As a plus I have tomorrow off and I am going to check out a barcade in Indianapolis.

First out of the gate is a Lager that tasted like an IPA!!! The name is fitting as it was what I said when I dumped it down the drain!

Next up is a beer (read the label as there’s too much in this bottle to list) that taste like a carbonated fruit salad! A little on the sweet n tart side but actually a good sipping beer.

Enjoying this delicious fall beer from, in my opinion, the best brewery in Virginia.

Keep the pumpkin coming! I haven’t had any seasonal beer yet for the fall but the cooler weather is getting me motivated.

If there are any Captain Lawrence fans here I was at the brewery not that long ago in NY and its well worth the visit.

Good food and fresh beer right out of the source.

They make some nice stuff... they do booze now too.

I'm still not big on pumpkin beers but this is actually the first one I had that I thought wasn't bad. Southern Tier Warlock is decent too.

I saw some Captain Lawrence beer at Total Wine today. I should have picked some up. I did get some of this in my quest to find a pumpkin beer I like. It's pretty good. More of a pumpkin pie beer to my taste. It hides 8% really well.

Just picked up another keg of devil's backbone ( Belgian trippel) to stage in the chest while we're working through our current keg. If y'all ever come down to Texas. Try a devil's back bone by real ale.

How is the 2021?
This has always been one of my favorite stouts but last year I wasn't as thrilled. Maybe it’s because huge high alcohol stouts are so common now. I value your opinion because you are into the big Bruery beers.

Honestly I would stick with the original Parabola. Although the variants are good the original is better (IMO). To take it a step further, the Anniversary Edition this year is better than the Parabolas.

Can get in in the NE so it’s on the east coast. Just limited I guess.

Better than FW is The Bruery.

Lagunitas is dead to me, this beer isn’t bad, it’s good, not great- like the Born yesterday they used to deliver around now every year in a 6 pack. I’d buy it by the case- now these are in a 4pack. What is the world coming to....

Inflation. Total Wine wants $20.50 for a 12 pack of Celebration this year. I usually pay ~$15 for it.

Next time you’re headed to Ohio…
Speaking of Ohio, anyone that goes to Eastern Ohio check out a place called Vintage Estates. Great beer place!

Anyhow, onto the last of the FW Parabola variants…

Funny you should say that. I have a place in Tennessee and thinking about rerouting for the next drive up..I really enjoy FW..now I have to see if Russian River has expanded their distribution

You looking for Piny?

#2986 20 days ago

Always. Blind Pig is outstanding too

It is that time of the year when the greatest brewery (Hardywood) in the great commonwealth of Virginia releases its critically acclaimed Gingerbread Stout. My plan is to work on leaf removal all day and then end the day with one.

Both are readily available here in Central CA. It's odd as Piny and Goose Island BCBS are very hard to come by back in PA but out here I can walk into a store and get either anytime of the year. I am not an IPA fan at all but send some back East once in a while for someone I know that loves it.

Such a good beer! Out here Trader Joe's carries this yearly and it's always the best place (price wise) to purchase it.

Make sure you check out Kentucky Christmas Morning. That's my personal favorite of the Hardywood Gingerbread Stout variants. It's with coffee and bourbon barrel aged!

I like that one as well. I usually save the Kentucky Christmas morning for … wait for it…. Christmas morning hahaha. I have a 750 ml Bourbon barrel GBS from last year that I am going to crack open when I have a buddy over and do a side by side comparison to this year’s bourbon barrel GBS.

BCBS is like that here in CT, too. The variants can be difficult to find, and I don't think we get all of them every year, but you can usually find one or two of them, even though they are usually expensive imho, at around $29ish per.

But the regular old BCBS, is usually around for months, if not the entire year, and even previous year's in some smaller mom and pop shops, for $12. It's a good thing, because the regular is my favorite. Which reminds me, I have a few '16's still kicking around that will need to go in a 5 year vertical to be shared with a friend (or two, haha).

I'm with you in the sense the regular is my favorite. Out here it goes for 9.99 per!

The variants are readily available out here but not the "Limited" ones. IF ANYONE can get their hands on the Blanton's variant this year I'd be glad to pay finders fee and shipping!!!

The promised , after leaf clean up beer. Poured a little hard, but good to go.

I’ll keep an eye out, my local place usually keeps some of the rarer BCBS behind the counter with the allocated bourbons.
