This looks amazing, but I'm not totally sure what all I'm looking at.

I missed this variant when they dropped, unfortunately. How was it?

Quoted from goodtimes:

Anybody got some Hopslam they would sell me . I didn't stock up , and would like to take a couple over to my pops house to tweak and fix up some s hi t on his LAH !
[quoted image]

My bottle shop up the street still has some on the shelf. Years ago, Hopslam would be be gone in a day or two. I think the hype has worn off somewhat as well as production has gone up. It's still a decent beer but I feel like the first couple of years I had it, it was at it's best. Admittedly, it's hard to judge that kind of thing over many years.

Bourbon County oatmeal stout

#2708 3 years ago
Quoted from Clytor:

Bourbon County oatmeal stout

It's more like a coffee stout. The faint taste of Oatmeal is followed by a lot of coffee flavor. I paid 11.99 for it and wouldn't buy it again.

IMO the BCBS has a few years left as, for the most part, they're well overpriced for what you get.

That explains it! I drink one of those bomber Black Tuesdays (20% abv) and I start citing the cyrillic alphabet.

Exactly! A good thirsty Thursday

Whole truckload of Heady Topper just delivered to all the beer shops in Portland. Can’t wait to get home from driving these damn kids around to start tucking into one.

Really like it, and I think it'll age really well. Can't wait to try it again next winter!

Several years ago I painted one of the beer cans on my fish tales playfield to have a Trilogy brewing co logo on it.

Tonight I’m enjoying Wolly Hagis from Holzlager, it’s their Scottish ale and it’s pretty good. I wish more craft brewers would make Scottish style ales, I really enjoy them.

That’s the first beer I had legally sitting at a bar the day I turned 21. Haven’t had one since. Not deliberately just haven’t ran into it or thought to find it. I can’t even remember what it tastes like.

Interesting. I can't remember what beer I had when I first turned 21. Probably something much less tasty! Most stuff Lagunitas puts out is pretty solid. That particular beer is a decent IPA.

like some breweries make recommendations for "this beer with this food" we can have "this beer goes best with this machine"

oh yea. was a fun night lol. The second glass was for my daughter. She was buzzed after one glass. That untitled art choco raspberry stout was amazing. was like a chocolate cake with raspberry jam. so glad I grabbed a few 4 packs.

pairs well with checkpoint, nascar and hot wheels

i always love narwhal but i think i am getting spoiled with too many bba stouts , this one tasted a little too straightforward

a coworker who is pretty knowledgeable about beer asked at the store for a " super juicy, hazy ipa" and got this, not hazy or really juicy but a nice balanced ipa , reminds me of SNPA

It's hard to tell from the picture, but that looks like the "regular" Narwhal, as opposed to the Barrel Aged Narwhal. I still have one in the cellar from last year's release, and it was in a can; previous year's I don't recall if it was in a bottle or not.

Seeing as your in NY, an absolute favorite of mine, that is only released this time of year, is Sixpoint Master Blend; its one of the best BBAIS around, and is a very good bargain at $13 for a 4 pack.

#2735 3 years ago

i will look for sixpoint bba. i am a big fan of their mind control and mindbender DIPA and similar , really good and a bargain as well.

the narwhal is the regular. can't go wrong with adding some bba goodness to it, will look for that too!

Speaking of pairing.. viticulture #2 while playing viticulture! For those that like the funk, it was great! Really liking the beers I've had from Barrel + Beam

Holiday.. they got a couple different types there, all farmhouse / wild styles... They are outside Marquette, tried to stop there last summer when the wife and I did a hike trip in the UP, but they had some strange hours..

March 12th heading down to the Bruery for another pickup. Always like Christmas when I do this as I forget exactly what I ordered. Then once you see the back of the vehicle consumed by beer I start to wonder if I would've been better off picking up some crack and saving a deluge of money.
