Black Tuesday by The Bruery
If you’re a fan of Bourbon Barrel beers I highly recommend this one.

Wow 19.4%

That’s the drawback as you don’t taste it. Very smooth and easy to drink. Just don’t want to operate heavy equipment after a few.

Just had my first one tonight - very tasty.

Agree, Sam Smith beers are very good. Was lucky to be able to purchase the Nut Brown and Oatmeal barrels when Sam Smith imported them to the States for a short period.

mini kegs? nice!!

No, Half Barrels. Sam Smith never produced barrels in its 250+ years for export. They did it back in 2017 for brand recognition in the States only. To my knowledge they haven't done it again.

Unfortunately infected but we knew it would be as most of the batch was.

Best was the banana one and thisbyears was really nice.

Bummer

#2076 9 months ago

It was almost drinkable. If it had been the last one we probably would have downed it

Apparently, with Goose Island, they don't recommend storing it for more then 5 years as it breaks down. Don't know this to be true but a Wholesaler for AB advised me. Your 2015 was borderline but, to your point, it was more than likely due to being infected as most of 2015 was.

I have a bottle of the regular BCBS back to 2007. Some day I will open them if I don't sell them first.

HELP - Anyone that can purchase Thomas Hardy's Ale around them I am in search of the 2018 Vintage and 2018 Historical Ale. Thomas Hardy's Ale is not widely available so I am trying to find anyone that can get it so I can keep my vertical going.

I have the 2018 Golden but am in need of the 2018 Vintage (this is the yearly vintage) and the 2018 Historical (barreled in Scotch Barrel)

Some are fantastic, others are undrinkable. Definitely have to find ones that suit you.

#2084 9 months ago

Most of the ones around me are either:

Almost to the point of drinking straight lemon juice mixed with vinegar...

or:

"Fruited Milkshakes" aka a neutral base "beer" with raspberry/strawberry purees/whatever/sometimes lactose added to make a wine cooler like beverage that can somehow, legally, be called a beer.

Westvleteren is a good beer BUT its exclusivity makes it more then what it is! If you Google it there are places online you can purchase it from as places (i.e. Belgiumart) ship it worldwide now.

I read somewhere that the WXII is quite similar to St bernardus abt12 and was once made in that brewery before the trappist law was established.
The Abt12 is a good beer but R10 is better imo so youre probably right about the WXII being more than it is, some day I would like to visit the monastary and pick up a few bottles though.

Yeah my daughter went to Belgium and sent me a few bottles (see post 1776 for picture) and although I liked it a lot there are other beers out there that I would rank higher..... St. Bern being one!

Had this last night.
Very good but not as amazing as I thought it might be.
I enjoy some of the beers blended to make this beer quite a bit more.

I agree
I drank one last week and have approx (8) more down in my cellar.
One of my all time favorites !

Sucaba is pretty damn good too.

did not read the label closely on this one before buying, i assumed it was going to be an almond joy like stout that might be too sweet for my taste but it was this instead. turned out to be a silky ipa , not sweet at all with the coconut and almond very understated

i am a sucker for a can with flashy graphics, is there really any need for a " margarita slush " milkshake ipa? after this one i say no

i liked this one , very fruity with a natural tart raspberry flavor thin mouth feel . some good roast , with a little more malt for sweetness and body this would be perfect
