Quoted from meSz:

You lost me at French

I discovered some pretty good French beers these last years. Despite being french, I was a bit sceptical before that and I prefer Belgian beers.

About as close to French beer as I have gotten so far but Peanuts seems pretty cool.

Think Noir is at least a French word.

You're right Christopher, Noir is a french word. "Artisan", "Pirate" and "Prairie" are words that also exist in french language.

Great look for this bottle! Cheers

noir is black in French so you would be correct!

I just came back from France, visiting my daughter, and the only beers I found in France I liked were from other countries. Not knocking France at all as I understand the French are more of wine drinkers.

Unibroue is French Canadian.

That's true, there's a true wine culture here in France, the beer can still have for some a slightly pejorative or low-end connotation. I'll take photos of the French beers that are perhaps not stellar but pretty good in my opinion.

Beer is cheaper than Coke in France, so they've at least got that going for them.

Quoted from Peanuts:

French craft white beer with wild blueberry. Light, B-.

We have a similar one over here

Valid point, they make some good beers!

Which coke are you speaking of First time to France I was taken back as you read/hear about how the French has a dislike for Americans but yet they're so enamored by American Pop Culture. Coke being the front runner but right behind Coke is Levi's. You see more Levi's t-shirts in Paris alone then in the US!

Lastly, whats the deal with the French not wearing shorts! Even on days where it was warm/hot out everyone wears jeans/pants and has a jacket on!

Anyone try the Sam Adams Utopias beer yet?

Ive had older batches but not the recent. Is pretty much a liqueur. I think its pretty good

#1962 4 years ago

With 28% alcohol, it’s practically brandy.

#1963 4 years ago

I like a lot of beers, but I gravvitate towards IPA's. 100 million angels singing is one of my favorites, and it is local.

I have had a few bottles of it, just recently picked up a bottle of the 10th Anniversary but have yet to open it. The Utopia is very good bu, as way2wyrd stated, it's more like a liquor (think cognac or brandy). The 2019 Edition was just released on the 15th so bottles are now out there. It's a steep price ($220 msrp) but one of those you have to try once.

No I Was going to make some but my wife reminded me that I will turn it into an major ordeal and that I should try to find something I like already made first.
That was good advice and I found it here. Made out of whiskey barrels.

Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Just stocked the beer fridge up with some Great Lakes Brewing Company Oktoberfest, New Holland Dragons Milk, and Bell's Double Cream Stout. Tried to locate Bells Double Two Hearted Ale but no luck, apparently it was very limited.

Maybe you want your AC/DC back and it will come with a 6-pack of double 2 hearted.

Lunch beer stop #2, got to say, that Raspery Hazelnut Chocolate Truffle sour at stop 1 was insanely good. Cant beat Triple Homestyle though. Ive had so many triple i cant remember 99% of them. This one tops them all though. No hop burn, no weird alcohol flavors, no bs strange grapefruit hops, just Mosaic for days and it goes down like silk.

Great, I didn't know this one before this week.

I tasted those too, still in organic farming. B for the blond and B- for the amber:

Yeah, I don't get the push they are making with this stuff. It doesn't taste good. They have a few different varieties of it too. They screwed up my Costco Sweetwater Value Pack by sticking 6 cans of this shi* in it. Though, I can tolerate it once my taste buds are sufficiently numb.

I have previously felt CBS to be cloyingly sweet, and prefer KBS. This years release is much more balanced, complex and delicious...they have a winner here. Exceptional beer.

If you really like it you can stock up, there is a staggering amount of it in the market. I bet I've seen over 150 cases of it this week in the Twin Cities.

Amazing! I wish this was easier cross boarder. We have great beer to share as do you. Love me some Bruery, Monkish and Moonraker. Modern Times and Treehouse as well, Russian River when I can find it.
