Quoted from trilogybeer:

I grow hops also Northern Brewer , Fuggle, and Goldings . I typically get one ten gallon batch from the hops I grow . Northern Brewer grow the best for me . Haven't been able to use any Goldings yet and they've been there 4 years now They look pretty good this year though so maybe I'll be able to use some , I use Goldings in the Scottish ale I make .

I got 8 oz dry from this first harvesting. There's a bit more left to harvest and now the vines seem to have woken up a bit since then and starting to grow again, seeing a lot of new starts. I need 9oz for this one 5gal IPA recipe I like so hoping to at least get another oz and then can use it all in there.

So many choices with some surprises on top shelf in back and bottom shelf in back. If only collecting pins was this easy.

Not long ago (May 2009) our state passed the "Free The Hops' Beer Bill". The law increased the limit on alcohol by volume in beer from 6% to 13.9%. Since then brewpubs have been popping up everywhere. Now it's nothing but gourmet brews & growlers baby! My brother's best friend opened one and it's been a great success. Gotta love the good stuff! http://avondalebrewing.com/

#535 9 years ago

ok WTF is a flaming moe and where do i get it?

--Jeff

p.s. always open for beer trades
Bruery Reserve, Central TX beers

#536 9 years ago

in Moe's Tavern... of course.
ps. that glass with the beer in the bottom can't be seen any more. it was painted solid white on day 2 after the Fox conservatives did a walk-through and got in a tizzy about it. it now looks like a coffee mug.

Sorry... But, it seems more like the liberal PC Police

#538 9 years ago

actually, that's the real story from the staff there.
i was there on opening day, then the next day it is painted over, and all the staff told the story the same there, as they were there when the fox exec walk-through happened. they were told they are a conservative business and can't be promoting one of their characters drinking beer and that it must be painted over immediately. by day 2 when we went back this is what we saw, and that is what they all told us. the employees seemed a bit miffed by it, considering they are actually in a bar and serve beer. not my words... their words...
if you'd like to apply your own political opinion on top of the actual words of the employees there, i guess that's fine. i'm just reporting what they all said.

ps. i have no political agenda. i think they're all sh!theads.

Pretty good ,not overly spicy. Hate when pumpkin beer flavor is overpowering and doesnt taste [just a hint] like its meant to be.

Picked these up to try tonight

#541 9 years ago

I cashed in my empty beer cans the other day. 95.5LBS - $205. See it pays to drink beer. Now when I open a beer I tell my wife I am just trying to make some extra cash.
