So if the game already comes with expanded rules, what exactly is Lyman doing? Alternate replacement game rules?

Quoted from pickleric:I'd like to see $500. I hope not more than $750. I am going to take at guess it will be $999.99
$999.99 was my guess as well. If it delivers a completely different experience / ruleset, I bet they sell a lot of them.
Quoted from apessino:My bet is that it'll be free - unless new/revised hardware is involved, which I really doubt.
Whatever the development cost is (likely a couple of months for one or two senior coders, so a drop in the bucket overall), it'll more than make up for itself in sustained sales for future runs and added prestige to the brand/company.
Say you might charge, deliver for free, enjoy general exultation and deep love from pinheads that were underpromised and overdelivered.
That's what I would do if I ran the company, at least..
Ryan said they would charge for it at Expo.
Quoted from apessino:Yeah, that's the underpromise part...
Just speculating, of course, but I think that when the time comes they will see that there are more financial benefits to be had by making it available for free - and maybe use the opportunity to bump the price on the new machines it comes bundled with.
It all depends on the scope/dev cost of the new offering... if it's just new modes/rules then I think they'd be unwise to charge for it, if it involves all new audio/visual assets as well then it would be a different story, of course.
We will see, I guess.
I think they will already have sold most of these by the time any Lyman code is available. He took two years to get Batman near complete. Guy is awesome but isn’t known to be a quick worker.
