When I looked the first cad of the playfield it was clear that was going to be a tough shot, which is why the rules use is sparingly. It is used to increase the playfield multiplier (but you have to also hit the ramp right after it), since I felt that was appropriate since that is a more advanced player kind of thing. One mode uses it (and is quite lucrative if you can hit it), one jail escape uses it and one secret mission, so 3 out of 25 modes/escapes/films/missions). So there is a clear benefit to being able to hit it, but not like it is a critical shot to enjoy the game. In some ways the hardest part is then hitting the ramp right after it to increase the multiplier, since it can come through that loop awfully fast.

The milkcan shot is a shot that you accidentally hit, but when you need to you just can’t.

or drains down the left atleast it gives it back to you!

does not happen often, but I felt if it does take that odd bounce you should not be penalized for making a tough shot.

I know what you're saying. I've come to realize i enjoy games that are fun and make me feel like a better player than I am. Houdini just wasn't all that enjoyable of a game in my small collection. I only play one or two games a night, and I want each of those games to put a smile on my face. So I traded it for medieval madness remake. Houdini is very nice to look at and if I ever have a large collection, it may find a home with me again.

Got to play a bunch of this at the Seattle Pinball Museum yesterday. It's fun! Agreed on the tight shots, but when you make them they're really satisfying and the "gimmick" shots are fun, especially since they all worked as designed almost 100%, which is impressive. The shot through the pops, that weird curve that flings it around to the stage, and the milk can loop are all highlights. I'm not even sure why, but they're just satisfying to shoot.

It would be interesting to see how it played with these. Bring some over and we can try it on mine.

No experience with Houdini.
In my safecracker I have 1 inch balls and it plays well. Shots are just a bit easier to make but the smaller size isn't different enough to change the feeling.
Trying them in Houdini is a good idea.
