Quoted from BrewersArcade:

Having solar panels is pretty pointless to me because they don't hold a charge...

Disagree, that is the entire point of a grid tied system. The electric company (your neighbors) use the energy being generated and offset the cost of the electricity you actually use when you are home.

This is one of my favorites of a Tesla X vs Alpha

goatdan I think your point about carsharing is the bigger concern for insurance companies. If the number of people needing car insurance drops by even 20%, which is very plausible the bottom line to the insurance companies would take a huge hit. Ramifications to the transportation industry will be unprecedented in the next 20 years: Taxi, Uber and Semi drivers all looking for jobs - Car to Car communication eliminating accidents reducing jobs - People traveling at night (no need for a driver) eliminating airfare. On the other hand if anyone can grab a autonomous ride for pennies maybe more cars will be crowding the streets.

Quoted from Astropin:

Not sure how much impact that will have...some...on really short flights. It will still take a long time to drive cross country when you can fly in hours. Hell it takes 21 hours for me to drive to Florida nonstop...2 1/2 hours by air.

I think it will have more of an impact than you think, short and medium range flights up to 400 miles. When people can sit down watch a movie or even go to sleep it will be much easier to drive 6-7 hours without needing a flight. Besides you claim 2.5 hours in the air, probably more like 6 - 8 after you drive to the airport stand in line wait around for TSA and at the gate, land get a car and drive to where you are going.. More if its not a direct...not to mention 2k less if you are traveling with a family.

Quoted from Darscot:

Black cars look good the day you wash them and look like shit every other day.

I currently own two black cars and if i would have purchased a m3 it would have been black... Maybe its the 180 days of rain in your part of Canada influencing your view...
