Here’s a fun video.
Quoted from JoshPA:As long as you never drive the performance, you don’t need it. But make sure you never drive one.
Thanks. This discussion was making me mean that way. Now I’ll avoid it.
Quoted from pinster68:Stock continues to soar ... and I’m quite happy I got back in a month ago.

Btw, mrbally hasnt chimed in on the good news. How’s your situation working out champ?

Doing very well. Thanks for asking.

Great to hear. Rest assure that if things turn sour for you again we won’t try smearing it in your face. Not our style you know.

It is funny how people still think Tesla will fail eventually. Yes volatility is crazy on Tesla, but on the long run it will only go up.
Still not much competition out there.
Ford's Mustang SUV is not bad, but I actually think it is funny how they took a lot of elemnts from Tesla and copied them. First spy shot almost looked like a Y from certain angels.
And wait....Tesla is showing the pick up in a bit over week. Stock market, strap in. It will either fall by $50 or gain $50.....welcome to the most controversial stock out there right now.
P.S. I bought at 265 and people were telling me for 6 months (after it went down to low 200s)....see, you lost so much money already, just dump it and move on.....well, look at it now.
You cannot measure Tesla stock on the actual company value. It is much more like Apple that way (granted Apple has a bit, or better say crap load, more cash). There is intellectual value in the company that is being reflected in the stock price.
And would anybody be talking about any other manufacturer's electric car if it wouldn't have been for Tesla?
Quoted from StrangeSubset1:It is funny how people still...
Well said.
I got in at $250 just a few weeks ago, so yeah I’m feeling great too. I had positions before and got in/out at some lows & highs, but never shorted. I am an optimist bull, but know it’s the market response to bull & bear extremes that get this stock really rolling. It’s a stock to hold onto, but an even better stock to trade.
Quoted from StrangeSubset1:Tesla is showing the pick up in a bit over week
Is it really that soon? Only other electric truck even close to production (but still not yet) is rivian and it's starting at $69k. If tesla can make a pickup for less than $50k like they said they will, it ought to sell a ton. A lot of gas pickups are hitting that price range as of late.

Reveal is on November 21st at the Hawthorne design center. The logo for the truck leaked today.....pretty crazy. Mad max here we come.
cybrtrk-lead (resized).jpgI'm intrigued by the electrification of the auto industry. I figure it will open the market to many more interesting and different vehicles because the cost of powertrains will be much lower. One of those being the Morris JE which is just a "scheme" at this point but if it was built and sold at a competitive price here in the states, it would be my ideal second vehicle. I know some or many won't care for the styling but IMO, its damn near perfect.

Also this only proves that Elon is about changing the auto industry (by congratulating ford in a tweet)

Has anyone been able to determine if a modern pinball will fit in a model Y? Currently have an Egolf and thinking of an Y when available.
Looks cool from the back.. that side profile is so odd. Looks like what a kid what draw a truck. Features and price is right though.
Quoted from sd_tom:wait, im sure once they add side mirrors it will look better
Tesla has been pushing to remove side mirrors for a long time, maybe they finally succeeded. They said it was required to optimize wind resistance. The plan was to use cameras and screens.
Imagine this, you finally sell a pin to this guy who has been low balling you for months. He shows up in your drive way to pick up the pin in a Cyber truck.......parks it right next to your 2001 CRV.
Quoted from Luckydogg420:Tesla has been pushing to remove side mirrors for a long time, maybe they finally succeeded. They said it was required to optimize wind resistance. The plan was to use cameras and screens.
its regulatory issue though.. audi and honda are selling camera based side mirrors outside the USA already.
at any rate, have my model S and like it.. but will eventually trade it in for an e-truck of some kind.. can scratch one option off list
Sorry, I think Tesla's are awesome cars. They look bad ass. I carpool with my buddy who is getting one, and I have been waiting for the announcement of the truck as I really want a truck and this truck had my interest since it was announced.
I really do not like the looks, so I will be looking at what Ford or Chevy will have coming down the line. I realize Tesla is years ahead on battery tech, and refinements, and everything else, but the way it looks has me depressed.
You know this thing is very early/pre-production. Not that they'll mute the design much, but things WILL change.
Notice how along with no side-view mirrors that there are no wipers?
Hmmm. I have a model 3 and love it. At first when I saw this I thought no way. But but the time this comes out (2021 latish) it may not be so outlandish looking. And it sure does look to be capable and practical. Pricing is good. I have an old Toyota pickup (1995) that is just limping along. For sure my next truck will be electric. This is now a maybe.
Hate the el Camino shape of the truck and note that it doesn’t even look as stylish. Lots more interior room. power and speed with the new truck though. Love the ramp.

1EAA5886-965B-4B5B-99D2-82366DCA906F.jpegI don't hate it. I was thinking of getting the Y to replace my wife's crossover and go all electric but maybe I'll do this..... I have the 3 and love it. As others stated - features and price is spot on.
Just looking at the specs and price, I think it shows it’s the beginning of the end for ICE trucks.
If any of the big 3 eventually come close to those numbers, it makes a gas engine irrelevant.
The beauty of the design is you will be noticed. It will turn heads on the road. If that's what your looking for in a truck this may be the truck for you.

I wish it was stealthy to radar, but I’d have accepted bulletproof or able to fly. But if you told me this the real cabinet design for Deeproot, it would be an insta-buy.
EA5DAD72-7D81-48F4-BABE-2712F47273FB.jpegIt was really strange doing that glass test and having it break twice. Musk appeared a little flustered for the presentation.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the shape and color was a Delorean designed as space vehicle.
I do believe as the electric market has more competition and electric cars become more common the prices will come down towards traditional gas car prices. New tech almost always costs much more than when it becomes the majority option.
I see all the harsh criticism and market panic selling as an opportunity to buy more TSLA. So I did.
Quoted from pinster68:I see all the harsh criticism and market panic selling as an opportunity to buy more TSLA. So I did.
I actually did too.
Seems like demand might actually be there.

I think this is partially due to the lower deposit ($100 vs $1,000 on the model 3), though in both cases it was refundable. In any case, tesla has a 20 million dollar interest free loan for 2 years. I do hope they actually sell, I like to see radical new ideas.
Quoted from jayhawkai:I just hope Cybertruck orders will finally shake a few more Model 3s loose on the used market.
I'll sell you mine in 2 years

LOL - No. The Ford F150 is the #1 best seller vehicle of any type for over 40 years. It's not even close. Second and third is Chevy and Dodge trucks. These trucks come in countless configurations, used heavily commercially, and after market is huge. Trucks are huge in rural areas and there are no charging stations on dirt roads, in the woods at the deer lease, or at the lake. Tesla is not going to end decades old truck trends with one funky looking truck. I will be curious what the real world performance numbers will be on the Cybertruck and if it can compete with other trucks with load capacity, towing, and how long charge lasts doing heavy work. Even if it could, I would imagine you would be laughed off the job site in something like this. I bet most of the preorders are from those already owning electric vehicles.
Quoted from jawjaw:Trucks are huge in rural areas and there are no charging stations on dirt roads, in the woods at the deer lease, or at the lake.
The cybertruck has solar panels that can generate something like 12miles a day charge and then there are attachment panels to up that even more.
Drive to the middle of nowhere. Camp for a week and have a full charge for the way home.
Quoted from goatdan:I don't go crazy, and I don't even do anything illegal. I like to launch myself when lights change from red to green, and whenever I get to go on the freeway
I actually find it odd - a lot of the time, not off lights, not after I've done that, I have people in cars that my car could toast seem to pull up and challenge me. Honda Accords and Nissan Altima's tend to do it the most. They then proceed to drive like morons, accelerating to way above the speed limit, passing in the parking lane, and whatnot. I never challenge them, but it's also nice to know that if they ever do ram into me, I have the car doing it's thing dash-cam recording at all times
I get the same....I always get rolled up on by the newer "sport" Civics, Hyundais, and modern American sports cars. I usually let them do their ego driving race, but once in a while I'll open up on them, and I'll see them in my rearview. It usually ends with them driving past me because I'm not one to keep pushing on a top speed race in and out of traffic.

Never said that the cyber truck would be the #1 selling truck. I believe technology has gotten us close to the point where an EV truck will make more sense than a gas truck.
Ford has an F150 prototype that looks promising. Once they go all in, it could be the tipping point. Why have a twin turbo v-whatever making 400hp when a simple battery and motor could put out 600hp without breaking a sweat?
I’d trade my Raptor in a heartbeat for an electric F150 with specs similar to the cyber truck.
