This is actually something I’ve been thinking about lately. I don’t think I would ever just stop and never have another drink again. But I do need to break the cycle of drinking I’m currently in. Think a lot of it is habit with me. Getting to old to continue drinking like I do. I’m sure my body and wallet would appreciate it.

Havent read this thread in awhile. I drank Halloween night but am going to try and stop until Thanksgiving. Been fighting gout flareups and they are getting worse each time. Will be switching jobs soon and wont have the luxury of doing remote days anymore. Also want to seriously start losing some weight. Got down to around 200 but been creeping back up the last few months. Would like to get below 190.

Going on 7 days sober. Gout is still kicking my ass. Told myself I would change after the last big one. Think its time to get serious and become a casual social drinker. I’m in my 40’s and actually do want to dial it way back. Hoping this is the kick in the ass I need. Ill start exercising more as well.

Well I failed at not drinking until Thanksgiving. I had a beer and shared a bottle of wine with the Wife Saturday night. Had 3 beers Sunday evening and 3 Monday watching the game. That’s actually really good for me. I was definitely wanting a drink but didn’t feel the need to drink excessively.
