I have previously. My wife recently stopped and concurrent with that I’ve cut way, way back. Our life is much better. Our relationship is better. Life is better. Don’t want to ever go back.

They call it a beer belly for a reason...

Sadly, we are back. Maybe not as bad as it was...no certainly not as bad as it was...but things are not as good now as when we were not drinking. Certainly hard to wrap your head around our propensity for self-destructive behavior. Alcohol isn't evil inherently. I think it simply helps the evil inside of us come out much more naturally. Additionally, I noticed in my own life and in the lives of my family, alcohol becomes more of a self-medicating issue to deal with the ever-present and real stresses of life. I think we think alcohol helps us deal with stress but in the end it simply adds more stress to our lives.

That said, it will certainly be hard not to throw a few back tonight watching the election crap. I fear I will need the medication.
