Back in my late teens, early 20's, I could down a liter of vodka in a night and be ready to find more.... I honestly don't know how I'm still alive to be honest. When I think back, I realize I really shouldn't have made it to 25. That was 20 years ago now. I will do anything it takes to NOT revert back.

At some point, couldn't really tell you when, I just decided I didn't want to anymore. I never had a big event or anything, maybe it was just that my lifestyle changed, I'm not really sure. Now I have maybe a beer or two annually, so sporadic I can't even really remember when the last one was.

Don't miss it at all.

No reason you can't socialize, A LOT easier these days since everywhere I live the bars are also non-smoking. Just grab something non-alcoholic from the bar and socialize. The nice thing is you can always throw the "I'm Driving" line these days and people have never given me a line of crap about it. That and I grab a snack / meal of some type.

The funny thing though is when I stopped drinking, my habits of where I go and what I do for fun also changed. I found myself going more to places based on what I find is fun. I didn't / don't intentionally avoid bars but over time I just went other places instead.
