I have a friends WHO dunnit at my place that is not holding its settings when turned off and then on again. I pulled the board that holds the batteries and it looks fine. reseated the cables and the batteries are good. Im kinda new to machines of this era so any ideas on where to look first would be appreciated.

    Quoted from LTG:

I'd grab a meter and see if battery power is getting onto the board. Bad batteries, bad battery holder is a good start.

    LTG : )

I just pulled the battery holder board and tested it with the batteries in .Getting proper battery voltage so it must be further up the line ?

    Quoted from exflexer:

Provide a picture of the battery holder and the CPU board.

    Quoted from LTG:

    Cool.

But is the proper battery voltage getting onto the CPU ?

    LTG : )

Thats the big question . Where is the test point for that?

    Thanks Lloyd,
Yeah, i guess its about pulling boards and testing traces at this point. Sounds like a weekend project.
