I am looking for best practices here. Then maybe I can tally the results so I have some quantitative data to defend my current position.

    Thanks!

Wife, no question....only get an hour or 2 tops on a normal week for pinball.

    #3 6 years ago

    Wife. No contest.

    #4 6 years ago

Wife plays pinball too!!! so have the best of both

    #5 6 years ago

Always more happy to be on the wife rather than on a pinball machine

Now, the wife on a pinball machine........

Seriously though, I know it sounds cliche, but my wife is my best friend. We love spending time together, and while I do get some pinball time during the week (at my decision, not hers), I will pick her over pinball every day if I had to.

Well, I am the wife, but we're pretty much together 24/7. Sleep together, work together, carpool to work together, breakfast/lunch/break together, IM each other at work all day, carpool home together, cook/eat dinner together, play pinball together, watch TV together, go to bed. Rinse, repeat. We've been married 10 years, together 15 years, and worked at the same company together 10 of those years. Good thing we're best friends.

Look...I like Pinball, but this is no contest.

My wife rocks. There is a reason I married her. I don't feel the need to "escape" from her, and bury myself in pinball.

(Besides...she likes the same cool stuff I do).

I probably should have put a backdrop to this poll question. Makes me sound pretty rough.

I am about to do another total rebuild on one of my pins (TZ). The last one I did was MM. When I told my wife I was thinking about doing that, she said the last time I did that (over a year ago), she didn't see me upstairs as much. Actually, I thought I balanced it pretty well. I would say I put in about 8 hours a week on that project.

I think she was worried that I would get frustrated working on it. When I did the MM, I had the playfield cleared. There was a huge gap between taking it apart and putting it back together. If it wasn't for this groups pictures and help, I don't think I ever would have gotten it back together!

Anyway, when she made that comment I told her that I bet there are guys out there that spend more time with their pinball machines than their spouses. Looks like I am wrong so far!

To me that is good news! This is one that I am glad I am wrong on.

Yeah. If you spend more time with pinball or any hobby than with the beautiful woman you married then you're an idiot. Or a closet divorcee.

Sure, there are guys that spend more time with their pins...

...but I'd guess that the relationship they have with their wives is not one you would strive for.

My wife is my best friend that always manages to put a smile on my face. Spending time with her and the family is my greatest pleasure. I love pinball but family will always come first.

best of both worlds: get her to hold your tools!
    : )
(Unless both your pin and your wife are wide-bodies and there's not enough room for both of them)
    : P

I just choked on my lunch reading that "wide-body" comment!

The other guy beat me to the ON the wife part, but I got up late today

We do a ton of stuff together, and a ton of stuff apart...

She love that I love pins, even though she doesn't push the button here at home...

She loves going to Allentown, or York, cause to her its a mini vacation from home, and pins just happen to be there...

She will play games all weekend there, and enjoy herself...

She is totally cool with the pins in my life, as I am totally cool with HER in mine..

And she puts out a lot

    and yet no "thumbs-up"?
    what's a guy gotta do for a +1?

    #19 6 years ago

    Kudos sir, kudos!

    #20 6 years ago

I guess that since I'm happily not married, my answer would be pinball. But I have plenty of other things to keep me busy without somebody else telling me what I need to do.

You can never spend to much on your wife. At least that's what mine tells me.

...well at least she'll have time for her boyfriend as you play with your balls! LOL.....(um I meant pinballs).
