I have always enjoyed Hot Wheels cars since being a kid but reliving by introducing my son and daughter to it now and now have a large bucket full. There are some cool cars and is a cheap hobby - buy one for the kids and one for me

Just discovered that you can buy from ebay Hot Wheels Sealed Cases (of 72 cars) and seems to be a big thing in the US but not cheap to send to Aus.

Found this guy that does lots of unboxing of the different coded boxes, time trials
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBvkY-xwhU0Wwkt005XYyLQ

Could only find one outlet in Aus selling sealed boxes so ordered a 2014 Case P for xmas for the kids.

Anyone else into collecting Hot Wheels, and slightly pinball related - Hot Wheels could be a cool pin with orange wireforms.

I think putting hotwheels in a pin is bordering a little tacky as just too small, maybe the jada scale if it suits the game. The exception would be a hotwheel pinball, wire form ramps could be coated orange and could be a sweet game.

As for my collecting - I have been selective on anything beach / surf related for the last 12 years, so a couple a year but the last 2 years been getting some classic american muscle cars from the 60's and 70's and anything that looks cool. All the american muscle is ripped out of the packets and played with by the kids.

I've got a ton of hot wheels I need to sell. I have games waiting to come in the basement so it's either the hot wheels collection or the games. Hmmmm

any beach surf ones

very cool o-din

still have some of those sweeping corners

I remember in primary school (when we were around 8), all the boys brought their top car and their was a 1 foot wide concrete box drain about 10 metres long with no grate on top and raced 6 cars at a time

finally had a chance to snap a few pics of the ones handy - still have a heap in the attic (all surf ones)

kids collection - we love our cars and they are just for playing with

Quoted from RonB:

Did you guys catch the show on Discovery's "Fast and Loud"? It's a special episode titled "Hot Wheels, Big Deals". They visit the Hot Wheels studio and will build a '68 'vette for Hot Wheels to make into a toy car.
I missed it earlier and I just started watching the repeat tonight, looks good.

thanks for the heads about the episode, found a link for the preview

being in Aus, we won't get this for a 1-2 years, does anyone know of any internet links to watch on line..... please

I contacted Mattel in Aus directly and they sold me a heap of tracks for $1 per 3 ft, so worth a try - the kids love them

we also created a game for the kids with the colour changing cars - we get 2 of them for each child and but them in a plastic cup fill it with water and freeze them over night for the next day and then either in the shower or at a water table they defrost the cars and play with the colour changing that way

#55 8 years ago

sorry Pinballerchef "track sets" yeah they are fun and great to mix them up. Toys R Us sometimes gets motors on their own which can never have enough of those but the sets are dearer.

as for the frozen cars the kids call them "Ice Cars" worth a try, a bit of hot water helps them release and then you have a big ice cube with 2 cars

Quoted from Bax1:

so I am thinking about selling all of the hot wheels I have collected. Anyone into collecting still? I have a lot of multiples and some pretty decent supers.

I am always on the lookout for beach themed hotwheels and dodge chargers
