Quoted from Squeakman:

I'm sure I missed the post of where you got your ramps or if they were new, but couldn't you have just ordered them from Starship Fantasy? They are in the USA and make the ramps.

I was fully planning on that, but they're west coast and LSOG being East coast meant I'd get them quicker and they had a few other parts I needed. No fault of LSOG, they shipped them out 12/28 the day I ordered. So much for trying to save a few days and a few dollars shipping!

Quoted from PinDeLaPin:

I like the orange.

Quoted from Davi:

Usually I prefer the original, but in this case orange is also a good choice. Even better?

Orange it is! It's easy enough to swap these out down the road I figured.

#53 5 years ago

I vote Orange.

With that said, I do have to protest the lack of cat pictures in your most recent post.

Here's Karolina passed out after her friend Violet gave her this fish.

Surprisingly I like the orange flashers also. I always thought blue would look good there, but the orange just fits really well in the mountains. I have three cats of my own so I always love to see cat pics!

Someone wasn’t sure about why she’s in yet another picture. She does seem to wonder why it is taking so long.

Hardware for front of playfield has been cleaned/polished and tumbled. I ended up throwing new flipper coil wrappers on to match the rest of the clean up.

My ramps finally made their way from Florida to Pa late last night. I'm a bit nervous to see what may (or may not!) actually arrive. No updates on UPS for my protector.

Wow I would be losing my shit if I had still not received my order coming up on a month later. They must have strapped it to the back of a gator down there in florida to save on freight charges.

Sold a leather bike saddle on eBay a while back. Shipped from Maryland to California... via Los Angeles, to Guam, then Hawaii back to LA and finally to it’s final destination.

A year later shipped parts from Arizona to France ... back and forth between Colorado, Los Angeles three times before NY and on to France.

Happens more often than you’d expect.

Sounds like I am in the minority here but I prefer the blue flashers to the Orange. Orange just don't pop against the ruddy colored mountains. I believe stock is red? I like blue. But of course, to each his own.

Maybe you should take 1 of the orange out and have a blue and orange in side by side to see what looks best. I still like the look of the orange though personally.

I guess I’ve learned some patience in this hobby. It’s frustrating but only pinball. No fault of where I bought them; just the unfortunate luck on my end from USPS. My local post office called me and told me it’s finally moving (which I knew), but was cool they actually call.

On some good news, the ramps came today and the box and ramps were all fine. Maybe by some miracle the UPS package will show.

New subway installed. Pretty lame progress but at least it’s coming together. Flame polished some of the new ramps and installed decals.

Also comparison of different color domes for reference.

Quoted from PinDeLaPin:

I miss my shiny new ramps. Unfortunately / Fortunately White Water gets played a lot. Time to break out the Novus.

#74 5 years ago

No protector yet. They sent me an email early this morning and now say they will send it out Monday if I haven’t received it by then. It’s pretty clear it’s likely not going to show. I know they’ll make it right but don’t say one thing and then push it back further. Oh well, it’s only pinball!!!

Have ramps coming back together. The yellowed plastics really look bad compared to a new ramp. Using Pinball Pimps PinballPimp decals too.

Have been doing a lot of research waiting on parts and thanks to judremy I’ve followed his recommendation to reduce spacer on the clear plastic on the Big Foot ramp to keep the switch and ramp from getting hammered.

His post here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/wh2o-cliffy-vuk-protector-issue#post-32764

You can see on the old ramp had a fairly clean repair. It does have the wrong switch actuator. New switches are being installed as I go.

Thank you @protectors my protector(s) came today. Original shipment is still MIA. They shipped new one out Monday just as they said. And it showed up today, Wednesday. Like the one I got in December, they ship fast.

It does come with the upper playfield protector as well. Not sure if I’m going to use it yet as I’ve kept the Mylar. It goes on easy as you can tell. Looks like only the ramp flaps hold it in place which should be fine. It should be an easy install and a nice bonus that it comes with.

As for the pop bumper Star post many folks remove, it looks like you’ll want to leave it. They trim for that post to be there. It would be a ball stop if left out for sure. I’m ok with this, but worth mentioning as it may be a deal breaker.

Hoping someone can help me. I’m missing this ramp support. Looks to be a plastic spacer post. Not finding it in the manual or searches here. Can anyone confirm what type and length the post is?
Thank you!

I think I found out the spacer but that would be good too. I’m trying to find what should be there under the spacer. Just a long screw from ramp, through spacer and into playfield?

We are back together with everything tested. One bad opto transmitter on lost mine. Replaced and working.

Bigfoot errors and he won’t go CCW and slow CW. So I took the board out and need to troubleshoot. Assuming it’s the cap so hopefully I have 100 microfarad floating around here.

As others have shared, the Mantis switch protectors require new holes and some tweaking the switches slightly. Was really easy knowing this ahead of time thanks to you guys here. Cliffy ramp protector worked perfectly with them too.

No issues with the playfield protector or new ramps either with the ramp and switch protectors.

Ramps fit well as expected. Was fortunate I didn’t have issues with the diverter hitting.

They mostly just fell in place other than the Bigfoot ramp. It went in fine but the thickness of the ramp is causing the ramp flap to be slightly raised. Will try and remove and bend the flap down a bit. Alternatively, I think if I install the upper playfield protector it will also fill the gap.

Yes, I did put in a blue light strip in the apron. Not sure if it will stay but was killing time when waiting for parts!

Not sure if stock or not but my game when bought, came with yellow bulb condom on the "Lights Whirlpool" and the red on the "Whirlpool Is Lit". Opposite of what you have. They're LEDs now (yellow left, red right).

Game looks amazing, by the way.

I like the blue in the apron but a little blue goes a long way on this game and most go overboard with it. I think they’re over-inspired by the water theme.

I like that you used white in GI. Is that warm or cool white?

Who cares what it adds, as long as he likes it. Why does everyone around here feel the need to shit in everyone elses’ Cheerios? He posted a beautiful restore that I’m sure will help someone in the future and you roll in and piss on his camp fire. Downvote me all you want, but I think it’s ignorant.

Unblocked after 6 months. Lasted 2 days. Blocked again.

It's your machine. Do what makes you happy.

As undergrad, made a huge thanksgiving dinner (with a deep fried turkey and turducken) for anyone that was still in town (especially foreign students who had nowhere to go, never experienced the unique holiday, and far from family). One guy complained about how I made my mashed potatoes "That's not how my mom makes them"

My response "That's how she makes them for me at breakfast"
