Think I'm going with a dark metallic blue powder coat.

Having HEP do a WH20 for me and was considering this as well. Would you mind sending pics when done? Anybody else have pics of dark metallic blue powder coat?

Anyone liking this design?
I have to say I think it turned out pretty sweet!
http://www.redbubble.com/people/tonygraf/works/24727501-white-water?asc=u&ref=recent-owner

Looks cool. If you could do a "distressed" version of the graphic on a NextLevel TriBlend t-shirt I would be all over that. Thoughts?

#2348 7 years ago
Quoted from webdiddy:

Something like this you had in mind?

Yep, absolutely. Looks great. Do you have any control over the type of t-shirt used on that site? Figure out way to get that baby on a next level tri-blend shirt and you'd sell a bunch I bet. Best t-shirts in my opinion and not too expensive

#2350 7 years ago
Quoted from webdiddy:

Haha! Thank you!

Glad you noticed

The buyer is able to select between an array of different type of shirts.
Here's a triblend for example: http://www.redbubble.com/people/tonygraf/works/13866797-pinball-game-of-skill?p=triblend-tee&style=triblend-tee&body_color=black_triblend&print_location=front

Can you send direct link for the distressed WH2O on a tri blend?

#2358 7 years ago

Sent a WH2O to High End Pins. What are the groups opinions on LED vs LCD colorDMD for this game? Appreciate it!

#2363 7 years ago
Quoted from n1teowl:

I have an LED version in my White Water and it looks great. You have to do a little tweaking out of the box to optimize the brightness and contrast, but after you get it dialed in it looks awesome. Bright and clear, and maintains the original DMD look.

Would you mind sharing what settings were ideal for you? Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it!

#2367 7 years ago

Awesome. Thanks Guys. I think Chris at HEP should be starting the restore soon and will start a thread to document process. Should be fun to follow.

#2371 7 years ago
Quoted from chadderack:

Having some serious buyer's remorse right now. And no, I'm not selling

Sorry, what do you mean? Can you explain for us low intellect types?

My big foot diverter is not working and doesn't work in coil test. Before I go about taking game apart to get to the coil any of you guys have advice on other ways to troubleshoot?

Thanks,
Craig

#2662 6 years ago
Quoted from Kneissl:

Got power on the bigfoot coil?

What's the easiest way to get to the coil?

#2664 6 years ago
Quoted from Kneissl:

I guess from underneath?

This coil is between the main and upper playfields. Looks like I may have to remove upper playfield but just wanting confirmation of that

#2690 6 years ago
Quoted from dsuperbee:

First, the fuse for that coil has multiple coils on it. If the other coils work, fuse is fine.
Most likely the drive and/or predrive transistor is bad, and needs to be replaced. Information on how to test those can be found on pinwiki.com under the WPC link.

Thank you. All other coils worked. This was a HEP restore I just got back and the connector had been conveniently extended to a very accessible location. It had come undone while I was messing around. Just had to re-seat and is well. Thanks for the help!

#2691 6 years ago
Quoted from Tjohejsan:

Finished my game, so now i am in the club
It was very dirty when i bought it.
Lots of new parts and lots of cleaning
Whats left now is to changed all the 3 flipper parts.

Awesome!! Looks great.

Hey guys. Has a completed custom pinsound package been released by anyone in the community yet? I've been following this thread by Endprodukt (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/white-water-reorchestration-for-pinsound-and-warren-davis ) but doesn't look like its done quite yet. I seem to remember another option available that may have been completed. Would appreciate any download links if there is anything out there. Thanks! -- Craig

Bumping this. Have a HEP restored WH2O with a Pinsound 1 board. The Pinsound board has not worked correctly since day one. Now the latest firmware update for the board causes the game to produce NO audio after starting a game. Can't get a reply from the Pinsound guys over the last few days on this recent development (they are typically pretty good at replying). Just frustrating to have an unplayable game. Is anybody else successfully running the Pinsound 1 board (not the new Pinsound Plus Board) with the latest Pinsound firmware on their White Water?

#3074 5 years ago
Quoted from FlippyD:

Are you 100% sure you have the correct data on your USB stick? What other problems have you had with PinSound? I have PinSound in three games and the only issues I've ever had were with bad or incompatible USB sticks or with setting up the data on the stick incorrectly. These are all original PinSounds running older firmware.
It's summer vacation season for Europeans so the Pinsound guys might be slower in replying.

Hey there. Thanks for the reply. Yes. I've got 4 pinsound boards on various games. Everything has worked great except this WH2O. I've loaded and reloaded the WH2O sound package several times over the last 18 months. With the second to last firmware upgrade everything worked great except the game would randomly max out the volume at various stages in the game and blow you ears out. Earlier firmwares had other issues. I lost all sound with the most recent firmware update.

#3076 5 years ago
Quoted from Davi:

I have seen your videos. Can you post a picture about the board, showing us the status LED's? Is the Running LED lit?
After the firmware upgrade, what is your volume level (at service buttons)?
You can try this:
Pick up another USB. Copy a small sound package file into this drive. Any package is OK, no need to be White Water. Let the board unpack it, then start a game. Activate switches and modes as much as you can, you have to hear some sound/callouts. If not, then seems you have a hardware issue.

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it. I’ve already tried multiple usb drives. My main volume is at around 12 or so. Ive posted some pics of the board and the leds on the board

Quoted from Davi:

Seems OK at first sight.
I have only 2 idea, simple crosscheck:
1. Can you move the USB from Fish Tales to White Water or from other pin?
2. Can you swap Pinsound board between games?

Yes. I can try to swap usb. Could also try to swap the boards if necessary. So, the FT sound package will work in WH2O? Also here is the Pinsound debug data if this helps at all.

Quoted from Davi:

You can hear some FT jingle/sfx/voice in other games. I have tested T2 sound quality in TZ with this way.

Quick update on my pinsound issue. I put the Flash drive from FT in WH2O and, what do you know, we have sound. It's funny to hear the background music of FT playing on WH2O. I am now going to try and put the WH2O package on the thumb drive I was using in FT. I don't think this is going to work, however as I've already tried multiple thumb drives in WH2O. If this next test doesn't work, I think this pretty much confirms it is a software issues specific to a combination of the latest firmware and the WH2O sound package that is available on the Pinsound website. Would you agree?

EDIT: Also noticing that there is a ".mix" file in the root of my FT thumb drive and this file does not exist on the WH2O drive. If you look at the pinsound debug log above it shows some sort of error trying to access the .mix file. Hmmm?

#3088 5 years ago
Quoted from Duvall:

If it were me, I’d run and pickup a new thumb drive, download a new copy of the sound package and see how that works. You could then also try this new setup in FT.
(Might also try downloading another copy of the new firmware and re-flash also. )

Done this twice already with different thumb drives.

Final post here on Pinsound issues. I put the FT pinsound package on the thumb drive that was in WH2O. Worked flawlessly in FT...so the thumb drive was not the issue (as expected since I already tried multiple in WH2O). I also put the WH2O files on the drive that was in FT and nothing changed in WH2O...no sound at all when you start a game. From the errors showing in the debug log posted above and with all this testing, my conclusion that this is a a software issue with the latest firmware and the "White_Water_Original" sound package posted on pinsound.org. I haven't found anybody successfully running latest firmware with a Pinsound 1 board on WH2O. Others are successfully using the Pinsound PLUS board on WH2O.

Got an email back from Nic and Tim from pinsound. Confirmed they are both on vacation and can't help right now.

Those Euros take their vacations serious over there!

Isn’t like 1/3 of the year scheduled for vacation?

#3095 5 years ago
Quoted from Davi:

Have you ever tried to copy the files by yourself? Sometimes I had issues, the board was unable unpack the zip properly. Copy the content of zip file using computer, the entire White_Water_Original folder under the "audio" folder on the USB.
Last hint: contact Endprodukt, I am sure he has a working package/firmware combination (he is working on WH2O reorchestration).

This is a good idea. Will try to manually unpack the package to the thumb drive

Thank you! Will download and try this as well

None of this worked unfortunately. Will put the little gorilla down for a nap and wait patiently until the pinsound guys return from their epic european vacation.

thanks - there is a very minor wrinkle but the topper is really stunning. It's a HEP restore and the new nicest pin I've ever owned and I only like nice pins. I'll take some pics too - such a great look game in general and hard to find in very good quality (not just a "nice" one).

Sweet. Chris did a WH2O for me as well. Curious...what color did he paint inside of cabinet and the metal piece at top of back box? Did he do black or blue on yours? Very nice topper indeed!

#3127 5 years ago

Quick update for anyone that has been following my issues with Pinsound 1 board in WH2O. It dawned on me that I had a factory pinsound board (with factory firmware) sitting in an IJ back box that I restored...still waiting on finishing rest of game. I took this board with the old firmware and put in WH2O using the latest sound package from pinsound website. It worked like a charm. To make sure the board I had in WH2O wasn't bad, I put that board into my Fish Tales and it worked like a champ in there.

Summary: Do NOT put a Pinsound 1 board in a WH2O unless you are using a firmware at least older than the last 2 (maybe 3) releases. I don't know for sure about the newer Pinsound+ board (I at least know of one other pinsider that is successfully using Pinsound+ board with no issues on the previous firmware version)
