Could someone tell me the distance between the playfield and upper playfield? Are the posts holding it up all the same height? Anyone happen to have extra posts?

#1385 5 years ago

Thanks mot!
Anyone able to say if it's 2 3/8 total length or spacer length?
Also looking for the wire shooter lane ramp.

Where do you get new fur? Any fabric craft shop?

#1520 5 years ago

Anyone have links to good shop out photos? I I've collected all the pieces, just need to assemble.

Could someone tell me what color wires they have runing to the hot foot bigfoot, disaster drop, and rapids ramp main switches. Pretty much the 7 column 71, 73, 74, 75.
I'm wiring up a game and some of the pieces I have don't seem to match the manual. I wonder if there's a typo.
Thanks!

Anyone ever have their bigfoot turn clockwise only? I see counter clockwise only is mentioned in the guides as a failed diode. I have a new motor controller board and it does the same thing. Seems like it should be a problem in the board if he turns at all.

#1647 5 years ago
Quoted from PjM:

Did you perform the test in diagnostics?

Fixed it. Typo in the manual on page 3-26 pin one and two of j1 need to be swapped.
So for the next guy who searches this problem (if it ever happens again) when control and enable are swapped, bigfoot will only turn clockwise.

Finally got mine playing tonight. Picked up a pile of parts from Eastern Europe, then found or made the rest bit by bit. Wired playfield from scratch.
Lots to do still, but the major fun milestone has been reached.

Wow, talk about doing it the hard way
What happened to the MB?

It was a free empty cabinet when I found it. I assume someone did a nice restore on their MB.

Quoted from thewool:

So how many other people have lightning flippers installed? I asked the guy when I bought it if these were standard and he said yes, but it was also set to 5 balls. I set it back to 3 balls and the game has always felt really hard to me, which is great, but I don't want to make it artificially so....

I dig the lightning. Even got em on bk2k

#1776 5 years ago

I left mine out completely.. I guess there's a chance I'll drain out of the bumper nest, but it hasn't felt overly unfair yet.

Quoted from xTheBlackKnightx:

Unfortunately, most of the older generations to do not post, post regularly, or even use a computer.

So what else didn't make it besides the insanity falls ramp with lanes and right return? I think that's the only major change I saw.

I'm running sans posts in that area, no complaints here.

Would anyone be willing to send pics of the top of their backbox with a few measurements of what gets cut out? I have the metal plate that goes in front, just not sure how exactly to cut a standard backbox to covert to wh2o.
Thanks!

Dunno if I'd do it, but I've seen white and it looks OK

#2279 4 years ago
Quoted from yzfguy:

IMHO... White looks a lot like ass.

What kind of ass are we talking about?

#2663 4 years ago

I guess from underneath?

#2693 4 years ago

Mine is open. Right outlane post is all the way out to compensate the extra drain factor.

#2706 4 years ago

There's a custom missing plastic out there for the left inlane

If you find one post details here. I have some random bit that works, but isn't for whitewater.

Would have to be pretty nice @ 6k. Seems like I've seen some sell in the 4s recently, if those are players 6k isn't awful for a higher end example.

I'm thinking about putting a new micro playfield in my wh2o.. anyone have any experience or comments on micro playfields?

Anyone got comparison pics? Can't seem to find good resolution stuff.. Especially the upper playfield.

Full ramp set is something around $800 I think that's been a decent factor in wh2o prices going up.

5 months later
#4251 2 years ago
Quoted from yaksplat:

At that price i'll just go carve some rocks, drill some holes in them and call it a day.

Brace yourself for the repro topper decal.

#4527 1 year ago
Quoted from yaksplat:

1: I was told, "What am I supposed top do about it?"
2: Cliffy made a version that works on both now.
3: 95% of my dimples were off. It was a nightmare of redrilling every hole and refitting every mech. There was also a hole for a post missing next to the left cellar. Again, no response from Mirco. His post sale service is miserable.

Jeez. I was kinda bummed with cpr after fish tales with the bad shooter lane AND they never replied to my email asking if they had a recommended work around. Micro doesn’t sound much different.

#4530 1 year ago

I think Alien was done by Micro. if so, they definitely have a nicer clearcoat finish

Has he done any updates? I noticed a couple screens that render weird. it’s much better than the colordmd colors even with a few flaws.

#5338 10 months ago
Quoted from yaksplat:

Did you let him know?
There were a couple that were odd to me. I let him know and he fixed them.
Which ones don't look right?

I’ll have to get the glass off and take some vid or photos. I think the replay score is wonky at end of ball, and I’m pretty sure i caught something odd in gold rush. Poked around a little, seems like i probably have the latest.

For a frosted yeti H2WO theme, a small custom on the decal is needed.

Quoted from Davi:

An option is pin2dmd. 50% cheaper than ColorDMD. Colorization is available for White Water. It's 99% done, but I don't really care the remaining 1%.

I think it’s a better color job than the colordmd, I swapped my colordmd to a different game.

Where did you find those?

#5835 4 months ago
Quoted from Billy16:

Any ideas of what to look for to fix this? I was playing today and in the middle of a ball many of the insert lights went wonky and stayed on when they should have been off--and vice-versa. Shut the machine off, turned it back on and many of the insert lights were solidly lit instead of going into attract mode.

Check your light matrix.. those Q chips are tip 102 or 107 i think.. lower right quadrant of the driver board, probably one of those died, you should be able to track it down by what lamps are solid. Edit: if you have a WPC schematic manual look at Power Driver Board sheet 2 pg 3, that might help too.

Hello everyone I’m trying to join the club “Slowly gathering parts” for a insane scratch build? Looking for a set of lamp boards? And the Lost Mine Mech amongst many other parts? Please let me know if anyone has anything they would part with, most things considered
Ideally I’d love a semi populated playfield? Well if you don’t ask you don’t get?
Thanks and great club

I did one... got most of the parts in a big buy, but had to make my own guides and a few other bits. wired the playfield from scratch. good luck man, it was a fun go for me!

mantis sells a guide kit, and a few good pieces for whitewater
https://mantispinball.com/product/misc-ball-guide-kit/

#5874 4 months ago
Quoted from RusticatedBelt:

the Mantis set is really just generic sheet metal and will probably only work for a few guides, plus you'd have to rivet them together.

Yeah, I have a riveted joint on the orbit guide…

Quoted from nerdygrrl:

As someone sans a topper this is very intriguing, but I also need 2K in other parts too

I ran a “poor man’s” waterfall topper using glitter for years.
