Anyone looking at selling or trading for something in my collection (except congo)?
I will work on the Pinsound (for more information please go to Pinsound.org) reorchestration for White Water in a couple of weeks. I have to finish IJ first.
I'm very happy to work with Warren Davis, who is the original voice of Wet Willy.
Some comparisons, old/new:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/hyypu29auwaf4kl/Welcome%20To%20Wet%20Willys.wav?dl=0
Hope you dig it. It will take some time to finish and I won't make promises on how long it takes. Maybe 2 month, maybe half a year.
I will try to match the original Songs/FX as close as possible but update it with high quality sounds and real instruments. Stay tuned.

Can't wait to hear it. Some of those sounds are going to be tricky. Are you going to need horns for the end of game music?
Quoted from Jam_Burglar:Can't wait to hear it. Some of those sounds are going to be tricky. Are you going to need horns for the end of game music?
Yes, it is indeed tricky and that's why it takes a lot of time to do right. I said I use real instruments, but I also use high class virtual instruments (used on hollywood movies and major pop releases etc). I have a 30gb Brass collection with hundreds of articulations for all the instruments. I use it on IJ and some of the reorchestrations sound just like the OST (almost ). Same goes for string sections, percussion etc. I'm a guitarist, I play also bass and drums. I'm an audio engineer and sound designer, but I do this for the fun of it.
The most important part for me was to get Warren Davis to do the main voice of the game. I'm happy he did it.
Quoted from urbanledge:Cool project,
shame about the price of the board tho
If people will pay 400 bucks for a color DMD - something you don't really interact with when playing, a 400 dollar board to fix the most problematic piece of an otherwise perfect game that is integrated fully into the player experience is a no-brainer.
I'd hardly say its a no brainer
You'd have to upgrade the speakers too.
If my sound board was dead yea Id buy one.
same goes for DMD
So you ordered one tamoore?

I'd order one if they're available when the new sounds are done, sure. Bringing WH20 into the DCS era is an awesome enhancement.
The upgraded speakers are already a no brainer for me, as WH20 is a keeper for me, and the speakers make a difference to audio quality for sure.

It will be far better than DCS. DCS is cool for it's time but still very limited and lofi. This will be CD Quality, 44.1khz 16 bit instead of 32khz 8bit

And you don't pay a cent for my 200+ hours of work for reorchestrating the original soundtrack... Check out my T2 reorchestration for reference. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2932654/T2%20Reorchestrated.mp3
And yes, you should definately upgrade you speaker system to a decent sub and wide range coaxial speakers of the same size, so you can really enjoy it in stereo. Yes that's on top, but it does change the way you play and the quality of the game in my opinion. Playing with headphones is also a really great option.
I love my color dmd's, but on pins without video modes your barely look at it. You'll always hear the sound, though. The cool thing about pinsound is, that you can do about the sound what you like. My goal is to match the original scores with modern sound to keep the feeling of the game.
Quoted from urbanledge:Does this look right?
Doesnt to me and it's not this way on my getaway, but it seems to work.
It's the apron. This is the only way the screws line up.
ThanksIMAG0130.jpg 104 KB
Yup, it's just like that with my machine. There are some things that seem different. Do you have that lift-arm on the right side of the cabinet that holds the PF halfway up? It's not on my machine.
I thought the tilted apron was odd too, but that is the way it is supposed to be. If it wasn't tilted like that, the Insanity Falls ramp wouldn't fit. I thought someone had put the wrong playfield hangers on mine at first, until I learned it was that way from the factory.

Okay, so I'm finally in the Wh2o club!
I need some assistance right away from my fellow rafters.
My "center" pop bumper is not working. This is what I tried so far.
New coild "DONE"
Check the fuses "DONE"
Check the bumper skirt switch "DONE"
Checked for loose connectors on the boards "DONE"
Checked all the nuts and bolts on the bumper "DONE"
Make sure the coil gets power "DONE" (even managed to shock myself)
I'm not sure what else to do, any suggestions?

Look at the manual,
find out what transistor controls it.
If you touch the metal tab on the transistor to ground with a piece of wire (the mounting plate in the bock box will do) doe it fire the bumper?
but before that.......does it fire in test?
Quoted from judremy:One thing I love about WH2O (and LOTR) is that you are able to choose your mode before starting it unlike some games where the modes are random or always in the same order. It allows much more strategy. The hard part (on WH2O) is getting the pop-bumpers to cooperate with what you want to start.
How do you choose?
Im on a old rom atm

I'm not able to find that transistor. Can someone please point it out to me? Is there anything else that can be the problem?
From the manual, it says it's transistor Q48.
I don't have a picture of the board, but this will be located on power driver board, and should be somewhere in the transitor bank above connector J125 or J127

It is based on which light is blinking in the Boulder garden. Hit insanity falls then the whirlpool and that award is given.

Just tried the wire method on transistor Q48 and nothing happened. In test mode the bumper is also not reacting.

I'm not an expert by any means but I'd say that transistor is busted.
Thats where I'd start anyway.

When I was replacing the Q48 Transistor I see that it have been replaced before, I decided to replace it again. The board is now mounted in the backbox and still NOTHING!!!!
Any other advice? I really want to get the center bumper fixed, I hardly get any bumper action without it.
OK. I haven't got many other ideas but one thing I'd try before I'd take the board out it is.
Find the wire the corresponds to q48
Pop it out and stick it in with one of the other pops and make sure it's firing.
If it does you'll know for sure the problems further up the board.
after that I wouldn't be comfortable giving advice!

Did you replace both transistors? You should get into the habit of replacing both. There is a secondary one that is associated with Q48. Do the suggested method above as well.
Okay guys, I finally figured it out!!!! it was a bad trace. I took a closer look on center pin and follow the trace down and I could see that the trace was rubbed off. I connected a wire from the center pin in on the transistor down to the pin out and now it finally works.
Thank you for the help!!!!

Looks sweet....just about finished with mine. Working on the abominable snowman tonight which is basically the last step
Thanks.
My abominable snowman was kinda a pain! The head was too big so when the glas was on it didn't fit.
I had to cut down the plastic mold for the body beneath the fur to get it all to fit, I also had a big problem with the hand holding on to the log, not any kind of glue would work due to the material the hands are made from, I had to screw them down with a washer on top of the fingers and it work out fine, I'm not able to see the screw or the washer from a player perspective.
Another new mod surfaced

$10...why not. I will post some pics when they come in.

Yeah. Just popped it's head off and trying to figure out how I'm going to do it. Was thinking of just using the original Bigfoot hands and stripping the fur off and putting it on the original plastic big foot plastic body. Either way I am sure it will be a pia

I really like these but my raft and bear mods cover both spots.
Actually, I forgot about the raft and skull mountain mod. Whoops!! :0 Maybe I can find another spot for them. If not someone gets a Christmas present on me.

looks great. Are there any white boulder sets floating around. Shopping a WH20 for a friend and they look nice.

white water rafting is a summer sport.
The playfield now looks totally out of place

It totally makes this pinball game an unrealistic rafting experience.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it a sport.
Things don't allways have to make sense as long as it's aesthetically pleasing.

What ever floats your boat.
Pretty sure rafting is a sport.
I think it looks better with bigfoot and the normal plastics.
bigfoot hotfoot now makes no sense and the dots arnt tied to the game anymore.

Ive struggled with the conversion to winter . It looks great (eye candy) but it does mess up the theme.
Quoted from Skypilot:Ive struggled with the conversion to winter . It looks great (eye candy) but it does mess up the theme.
I thought It looked really cool the first I saw one done up that way. I don't know if I would go that route now for my own machine. But it still looks really cool. Perhaps snow capped mountains in the back, for the allusion of depth... Maybe.
Does anyone have the guts to re- theme a junker into a winter sledding type of game with the abominable snowman??? Now that would be insane/cool. Perhaps using some type of LCD set up like PinBallMikeD came up with for CFTBL, where the DMD should be... That would be some next level shit for sure!
ok.....who has figured out the best arrangement of leds for the backbox? I'm not having the best of luck but I am sure someone has figured out the perfect arrangement.

that water you raft on is from the snow on the top of the mountains.

Umm an led in each socket.
