Really dumb question. I know there are changes from revisions concerning sounds. Can I test a game rom from a revision g board in a version a board? I understand sound issues would be a problem, but would I be able to simply see if a board boots with a different game rom? I have all the proper voltages into the board and the machine will boot up with rev a board in it. I am only hooking power and speakers to the boards. I have a dead Nascar with no acid damage that does not boot. I do have a working striker xtreme boardset. I just was curious if I could swap over roms just to see if it boots. Thanks for any help or suggestions. The machine had a blown fuse and I had to repair driver boards 5 volt section. I think he fried the rom. I do not have a logic probe, that is why I am asking.
