The new run of whitestar 520-5300-00 cpu/sound boards are amtel based. Am I correct to assume that these will not work with SEGA Starship Troopers (which has the BSMT2000 chip)? Just double checking. My SST has a problem with the sound (most of which I probably caused) and if I can simply swap in a new board that's the route I'm going to take at this point... but my research appears to make me think that isn't really an option.

Thanks!

Hi Tim.

The WhiteStar (modified) version won't accurately play the audio for SST. I had an SST and tried it.

What is the issue with your original board?
