Hello Pinsiders. Every time I turn my new White Water machine on and start playing, I play for a bit and then it stops and says: "TESTING...50018 REV. L-4" Pic attached.

Can you please help me understand this? I assume 50018 is the WW model number. Where in the menu do I get it out of testing mode?

Long time lover first time buyer and I picked up White Water. Everything running beautifully. Replaced my first spring myself and made me feel like a champ. Now want to fix this with your help :p

It might be resetting do to weak 5v going to the cpu board. to check this turn on the machine and hit both flippers at the same time if it trigger's a reset then we can fix that.

Battery damage on the CPU ?

    LTG : )

Dual flippers do not trigger the reset. I can usually play a while pretty far down river before it randomly resets. Was once at 16 rafts and it did it, ugh!

This is quite common with the WPC games, just intalled the KAHR board on the MPU of a No Good Gophers that was doing the same thing, totally fixed it. He sells on Pinside and I believe Ebay, $29

I had the same issue with a wpc pin. It was the 5 volt supply to the mpu. Try resetting the 5 volt connector on mpu , z connector, and power supply. If the game now works you have the likely problem.

I removed the z connector that was in the middle of the wiring harness between the mpu and power supply by cutting out the connectors and soldering the wires directly together. That got rid of two pin connections and fixed my resetting problem. Every pin connection is one more place that power is lost. Eliminate as many of these decades old connections as possible.

Thanks mg81. Going to follow your instructions. Kahr daughterboard did not fix the problem unfortunately.
