Quoted from Endprodukt:

I never thought how much impact the sound has on the game just until I had the board in my hands.

So do you currently have a board installed? If so, write up a review! Obviously you're enthusiastic about it, but would love to hear about some of the technical details - any lag, any provision to replace short repeated clips with a longer clip, etc.

I've been eyeing these for months and am shoving one into GNR if it works as advertised, but looking for some hand-on reviews first.

I don't get it to be honest.
So I thought you were asking to use the Pinsound Board with MMR by PPS for example.Right?

No, he's asking about ripping the new sound files from MMR, and using those in an original MM w/ a PinSound board. Took me until his second post to sort that out.

If you can pull the sounds from MMR, it should absolutely work.

Quoted from Endprodukt:

At bootup you will hear some beeping. Right now the board takes around 15 seconds to boot (the Prototype took twice as long) and the booting time will be shorter in the future.

Ack, that boot time is disappointing.

GNR has an audio sample that plays within the first second of the machine being powered up, and you can start a game 5-6 seconds after power-up.

Quoted from lllvjr:

How does this kill pinsound? Can't pinsound still sell their Amps

Sure. But the thought by some is that without freely available high quality re-orchestrations, their usefulness is diminished, along w/ potential sales.

Quoted from freezy:

I don't think they replaced the audio in MMR, did they?

The "original uncompressed audio files" were used for MMR vs. compressed/lower sampling rate versions in MM.
