I just picked this whitewater up and I’m about to start to strip the playfield and I noticed this date on one of the rails. My friend that sold it to me says he thought it was a sample but the date on the rail is mid 1992. Anyone have any information on it?

Well I mean it has red boards so...

As I recall, early models/prototypes had the metal rails for the left and right side of lanes. These were later changed to wood I think?
I'm sure someone will chime in. Red boards are a hint for sure.

My friend has proto 1. I can see what the date is on the game?
Based off the initial pics you have a proto

The difference of the cougar eyes and the X in the beginning of the serial mean proto if I recall

Here’s the cougars eyes, the date on the pf is 2-25-93 is there any other dates located on the machine anywhere?
