Sharing in case someone else gets this issue. =)
I have had intermittent issues with the ball popper not working on every 4th (or so) try. I had to replace the middle opto in the ball popper assembly today and had a closer look to see if I could fix the issue. Turns out that the ball popper cup which should have 4 pegs holding the ball in place only had 2 left. So, I quickly created a design for a new cup using Tinkercad and printed it on my 3D printer. I have had about 5 games now without a single misfire so looks like my print is doing its job.
