Quoted from PinballSTAR:You’re welcome, thank YOU and others who made a point to say thanks at the show. It’s hard work, games get beat up, and we usually lose money overall, but happy to support the show and provide new stuff for the attendees.
Thank you as well Joe. You offered, as always, a great selection of new pins. We enjoyed Pirates way more than had expected.
Quoted from jkashani:Did mafia pinball suck so bad no one is talking about it?
mafia was fun and responsive, but, price point should be that of Thunderbirds now that game was fun!
Quoted from arcademojo:Mafia wasn't all that bad but price is going to be the killer on the game.
Agreed.
It was great to finally get to play Thunderbirds and Mafia. Special thanks to vendors like Cointaker and Pinball Star for bringing new games and letting us beat on them. Allentown and York would not be the same without them.
I really liked the Thunderbirds and was so close to pulling the trigger on the demo, but the timing isn't good for me. Liked mafia too, but when I compare it to a game like tna at a much lower price, it's really no comparison.
Joe's a great distributor, puts a lot of time and energy getting these games to shows, very much appreciated.

That Thunderbird show special seemed like a darn good deal to me.
Thunderbirds was fun to play, but don't think I'd want a prototype of that game (it wasn't a "demo" production model).
Mafia was ok, nothing special, but nice to have something new to try. My eyes kept getting drawn to all the screw heads exposed everywhere on all the plastics. Don't think I've noticed that many screws before when playing.

when do the ACNC and thunderbirds reviews start rolling in, as well.
Quoted from greenhornet:when do the ACNC and thunderbirds reviews start rolling in, as well.
I had two games on ACNC and I was surprised how much fun I had on it. I played it at Allentown in May and didn't like it at all then. I don't enjoy upper playfields typically and this was no exception. Most of the time I had the ball get up there, it went down the drain up there or down the lanes....the ball didn't seem to reach the upper playfield flipper much. Could be not leveled or setup exactly right too. I was getting some good flow and that's what surprised me the most. Artwork looks great too.
Quoted from greenhornet:when do the ACNC and thunderbirds reviews start rolling in, as well.
Acnc was fun, hard to hear it, lots of shots, but It had very long ball times. I bet it’s a really cool game in a home environment.

I did see Ivan set Pinfest for May 3rd & 4th 2019.

Rich,
Your “controversial” T-shirts sold out extremely fast on Friday. Please make another run! Best shirt to date!
I played Thunderbirds quite a bit. As a fan of the show, I think they nailed it with the art direction and sound--from what little I could hear. I loved all the clever bits added in, like Tracy Island opening up to launch a ball, and the moving target for the hood.
Gameplay seemed really clunky though, especially that main ramp. The ball would bounce every which way up the ramp, only to be unceremoniously plopped into the rollover lanes. I'm hoping that they'll clear that up, given the floor model was a prototype. And the flippers felt strange. My fiancé even noted that the whole game felt strange. I hate the make the comparison, but the game shot like the clunkfests of the Gottlieb System 3 days. Occasionally, the ball would make an interesting feeling loop that actually felt smooth, so maybe I'm just a terrible player, and I wasn't making any good shots.
Given that, and how feature rich it is for it's price point, I do think it does offer pretty decent value.
To Rich, his family, staff, volunteers, vendors, and et al, once again:
Thanks so much for a GREAT show, well organized with lots of fun, a wide assortment of great games from many eras, etc. – making The White Rose Game Show always worth the price of affordable admission!
I want to give a special shout-out to the jukebox guys, who consistently come to York and who work so hard to allow us a chance to admire some truly beautiful, restored, eye-catching jukeboxes.
For those of us with one (or more!) at home, thank you for taking time to chat with show attendees, and especially for the efforts you put into these 'gems' so that they can be included at York!

Old 45 jukes and their caretakers are easily worth the price of admission. The t-shirts are as well, worth the price. Tx again Rich.
Sure was a great show, Rich and crew did a great job, really like the venue, lots of space for everyone, we brought 10 pins in for freeplay, only one gave us trouble, Space Invaders and Farfalla played both days rock solid, every one of our pins found new homes, that was a first, was great to catch up with friends
and hang out peddling or flea market stuff, looking forward to next year

Gerry,
Great seeing you and Joe again. Hopefully you will be able to pry that Judge Dredd away from Joe once he has it shopped out for you. I'll talk to you in a few weeks once we have more figured out with some of this other stuff. I'll also keep my eyes open for additional Bally / Stern transformers for you.
Quoted from poppapin:Who's game was the extremely nice Flying Carpet? & did it sell?
If it's the one with powdercoated black legs and door, I know whose it is. PM me for his info.
Jim

I put a couple of games on your Dracula. That is honestly the nicest BSD I have ever played.

Yea, I bought 2 Friday night and there was hardly anything left. I love the shirts and the artwork is tremendous and an iconic staple at the show. It obviously didn't offend too many people or there would be plenty shirts left

I loved the ball save magnet in-between the flippers. ACNC was much better than I ever imagined. I love TNA for its fast play, kick #ss sound and simple layout (meteor on steroids) but ACNC might be spooky's best yet. It's a tough choice for me but ACNC really was well done. I always love playing all the classic games but I want to give a shout out to Joe for always bringing the latest innovations in pinball. I really look forward to visiting his stand at the shows. He's a stand-up guy and I have bought many pins from him. I'm not sure the shows would be the same without him.
Quoted from Chalkey:I missed something... what was the controversial tshirt?
The internet got all internet ragey about the black shirt with the lady on it because blah blah blah dumb shit. It seemed like the shirt design would be changed to appease the cry babies but it didn't and surprise surprise sold well.

And the shirt that was created to offer an alternative to it didn't sell at all. All I can say is people vote with their money. And I have a lot of new expensive cleaning rags.

What's the alternative look like? You never know, might sell online.

Sorry, I don't have the time to deal with shipping shirts. We used to and it cost too much in time and money to continue doing so.
Quoted from poppapin:What's the alternative look like? You never know, might sell online.
Simple design. If I recall it was a pop cap with the words White Rose Game Show on it.
Quoted from Spyderturbo007:Damn. I didn’t see that shirt or I would have bought one.
I think it was a red T-shirt, with the pop bump as Chad said.

Oops. I meant the one with the chick on the front.

Hopefully you didn't put the date on it that way they may be able to be sold at Future shows. I grabbed one of the black shirts right away figuring that that would happen. You always have the best game show shirts! $15 is a great price also.
