First question: I had several SW's not registoring in SW edge test...Ball trough 1&3, shooter lane, bottom drop, and rt cellar. Mostly in one row, but not all, TR eject still work, and ball trough 3 in different row. I pulled connectors 1j10 and 1j8 and used jumper wire, and all SW's registored. Does this mean that the problem is NOT on the CPU board and MUST be under the PF, or a poor connection with the connector?
Second question: In looking for issues under the PF, I found a broken wire on top jets bottom SW(same row). That SW still registored, and pop worked. Fixed that, and all is good now. Why would that broken wire affect some, but not all of the SW's in that row, and how does ball trough #3 fit into the puzzle?

If your switches register from jumping the connector at the CPU then yes the issue is on the playfield. Take a look at the row of switches that are having the issue establish the wire colors for that switch row. Begin with the known bad switch and trace the wires back to the first known good switch. You will most likely find a solder break or short along the way.
