Thanks in advance

This is a new to me game that had duct tape covering both cellar entrances. Coil moves freely, switches both work and 50v is présent but up kick coil doesn’t fire in test mode. It appears that the aux board location is Q7.

Where I’m lost is is this most likely a connection issue, a transistor or a signal issue due to cpu?

I’m not sure where to turn next.. so far I’ve found duct tape, silver hvac tape, rubber bands used as return springs, brown extension cord wire tied into the transformer and a ground braid that i can’t see where it came off of.

I could use some help please before i place my reorder for more high speed bubble gum and thumb tacks for my necessary repairs...

Is solder connection good on the coil? That could cause it not to fire if one or more of the terminals has a bad connection.

I will resolder and see...but, you know ..they “look” good..lol

Most likely It's Q7. But before, jump the coil to see if it fires. If no,t check your continuity from Q7 to the board connector.

Make sure to post those hacks/repairs in the worst hacks/repairs thread.

Too bad you aren't closer. This would make a fun communal project.

Any updates on this, can you get the coil to fire if you jump it?
If not you need to replace the coil as there’s likely a break somewhere in the winding, if you can, as said above check the Q7 transistor, but as you said in the WW thread you have 48v present at the coil so that should be good.
Now that I’m thinking about it that could be why it stopped working in the first place, if you go into the solenoid test does the voltage drop to 0 when the coil is supposed to fire or stay at 48. If the transistor is bad it could have locked the coil to on and overheated it causing it to partially melt until it stopped functioning. If that’s the case you’ll need both a new transistor and coil.
