I am in the middle of a Whirlwind restoration. The diverter rod had been badly bent. While trying to straighten it it snapped. Where can I buy the rod material? Is it a 1/4 inch stainless steel rod? I would pay some one to make 3 of them for me (should always have a backup). If someone made the Rods, I can cut the diverter flag thing.

This looks promising - I need to see if I can find a detail part list for the diverter.

I will try Rivers thank you. I ended up buying a 3 foot piece of 1/4 rod and making a couple of them. I was going to make more, however cutting the stainless is hard. The groove for the e-clip perplexed me for a while, but ended up taking a hacksaw blade and a vice and a drill to cut it images below
