new whirlwind member here..if while in attract mode my game shows a whirlwind t-shirt offer and phone number...does that mean that i have original roms.....what is the current level available and where do i get them....how about sound chips?
tearing down my whirlwind...ordered parts and then wondered? does the ring list in the manual account for the locations with doubled up rings as i have seen on most machines including mine? or was the game originally only single rings everywhere?
does anyone have any extra plastics?.......a few of mine are off color repro's or broken.....let me know what you have please.
finally got pictures of the plastics that i am looking for....some are homemade reproductions and some broken.....any help with nice used plastics would be great ......also some help with the proper brackets for the right ramp sign.......thanks
FullSizeRender3.jpg FullSizeRender4.jpg IMG_1568.JPG FullSizeRender2.jpg FullSizeRender.jpg FullSizeRender5.jpg IMG_1569.JPGquestion about the rubber pieces used ....the quantities listed in the owners manual is different than the quantities listed in the Williams red parts manual on PPS.....which is correct?
Anyone with any answers on the rubber pieces required for whirwind......since the owners manual and the Williams parts manual are different?
i need the whirlwind owners help.....i need a hi res scan of the center plastic behind the targets( the one that is always broken)......but could you send it to

Quoted from zerbam:with every one doing whirlwind rebuild using complete new sets of plastics someone should be able to help me.......need 1 used plastic (or new) to complete my set for my project whirlwind rebuild
BUMP for those that were on holiday vacation.......still looking.........(I am willing to pay a reasonable price)
getting ready for playfield swap to a diamond plate. I need to place my order for rebuild parts. I understand the parts needed for flipper rebuilds and pop rebuilds, but what should be replaced for the other assemblies? (target, kickers, out hole kicker, eject hole, etc.)
just realized that the diamond plate playfield that I am swapping to has no t-nuts on the back side.......anyone know what sizes, how many and locations? I know that I could look at my other playfield but there are t-nuts buried under the wiring and I was hoping to slide all that confusion from the old playfield to the new one after installing the t-nuts.
a few whirlwind used plastics and main ramp for sale see link

Subject: Contact US (New Part Request) - whirlwind plastic
Request: now that the whirlwind plastics are available again, you should make a special run of the center plastic over the targets and you would sell more than there are whirlwind machines in existence. every whirwind owner would want at least one extra
Response: We have the center plastic over the targets - that will be put on the store shortly.
what lamp socket would I order to replace A-11271 with the diode?.......(lamp socket separate & diode separate)......and what lamp sockets for the coin door lights? for my whirlwind restore
2 questions: I am putting all new decals on my whirlwind.....the decal with the manufacture date on the back of the machine is unreadable.....my serial # is 331001 does anyone have a serial # close that could give me a date......and who sells the best 3 center spinner decals?
does anyone know John Vorwerk or Brett Bennett? according to the serial number database the have the closest numbers registered to my number
still trying to establish a date of manufacture for my whirlwind so that I can replace the sticker on the back of the machine........my serial #331001 .........is anyone close to that serial #
thank you to anyone that can help.....this is the last decal i need to compete the decals back to original
i think even if your serial numbers are not close.....if i get enough numbers and dates maybe i can figure out how many they made in a average day and figure my date that way
I currently have 3 serial number and readable date codes so starting to figure out an average manufactured per day to get to my date code........any additional numbers will help............I know this is being very picky ........but hey it's pinball!!!
thanks everyone.......using the number I have received so far and the 1990 calendar I think that figured out my date (approx.). using the 2 closest serial numbers to figure out how many were made per day average then number of days between dates and the calendar my date is 90029 ..........unless someone has a serial number really close to mine this is my new date

here is a list a fellow pinsider put together for his whirlwind using comet bulbs
the spinner height adjustment decal is on Inkchonito's site http://www.pinballrebel.com/pinball/cards/ under whirlwind and scroll to page 2
ok, the bottom side of my playfield swap is pretty much complete....thanks to goggleloy.......but, the wiring harness had a grop of wires taped up (but green wires not touching white wire) prior to the swap connected to nothing.....2 wires green with red stripe and 1 wire white with brown stripe. the are located near the ball trough and could reach about 8" from there. All of the green wires in that area seem to go to switches...but these go nowhere......i will add some pics soon. do some whirlwinds have a slam tilt under the playfield like my friends taxi?
yep ......friend helped me figure it out from that same page in the manual.......extra wires not used
as we all know......one yellow cap has to be cut to clear the ramp........i have the LED ring for all the pops.......is there a way to cut the ring and still have it light properly?
I went ahead and cut the pinball life ring based on another post that I found where a comet ring was cut.........it did not work.....now ordering the comet pop bumper led inserts that fill the center of each pop bumper........should look good with the transparent colored pop bodys from Zitt
I know that I read it here somewhere?.......when you launch the ball is it supposed to loop under the ramp and over to the right upper flipper or is it supposed to go up the ramp and drop on the spinner?
contact Classic Arcades......he does not have the spinner decal listed right now .........but he does have them
http://www.ebaystores.com/Classic-Arcades-Inc/_i.html?_nkw=whirlwind&submit=Search&_sid=4026039
if your ball goes up the ramp when you plunge the ball......then your machine is adjusted wrong.....it should go to the right of the ramp and loop around to the upper right flipper.........there are many discussions and photos of how to adjust it in this thread
already packaged and ready to ship $20 U.S. shipping included
