Also a CPR pre-order (plastics too), not yet in the club. Tracking says it arrives tomorrow
Hope to find the right WW one of these days, it's the first game I can remember playing growing up.

Got my playfield yesterday. I'm curious as to what is the normal number of blemishes? I'm assuming its a gold playfield since I paid the full pre-order price right away after getting the email.
The two on the sides are probably fine but is the white drip(?) supposed to be in the west insert?
Quoted from herg:There will be a grade burned into the wood. That white drip on the W insert would drive me nuts.
Cool, I'll look when I get home this afternoon... yeah it's kinda front and center with no chance of ever being obscured by anything else.
Well it is a Gold. If a drip of paint on a clear insert in the middle of a playfield that is visible from 10 feet away qualifies for gold status I just don't know.
Otherwise it does look great, went ahead and sent them an email asking what they think. My guess is that it simply slipped past QC. I feel so nitpicky, but it does make me itch... ick, I don't think I'm OCD but maybe I am.
Quoted from Capinball:I'm not OCD but I have paint drops around mine as well. I think I'll pay more and buy a CPR gold off of someone that has already purchased it, next time. That way I can see what I'm buying.
I sent an email to CPR when I made my original post here but have heard squat. Once someone has your money, the sense of urgency to respond doesn't seem as important, I guess.
Thats unfortunate. Hopefully its just that they are busy getting things out and haven't had a chance yet. I'd like to hear back as to whether they consider drips to be normal given the grade, especially since I have an addams playfield pre-ordered and coming out next.
After reading through their grade descriptions a couple times, personally I feel the small white drip on the side along with the black line blemish makes it a "silver"... adding the large white drip in the center makes it a "bronze"... based on their descriptions.
Quoted from shicketmaster:Don't you mean they shipped out all the bronze play fields labeled as gold.
LOL... well I did hear back yesterday (as they were leaving on vacation) and in my case it was just something that got missed and they seemed pretty embarrassed that it got by.
But yeah, gold graded are gone so I just replied electing to take a silver in exchange with a small price adjustment. I'm a little nervous about what I'll end up with but hopefully it works out fine.
Quoted from shicketmaster:It clearly said Gold when I made payment and for several days thereafter. Anybody make payment on or after 8/11 and get their playfield or tracking info? Apparently they are on vacation until 8/30 so I don't expect a reply from them.
I would imagine if it said gold when you paid there is a gold there with your name on it.
Maybe I'll get lucky and someone they offered a gold to will end up not paying.
Quoted from shicketmaster:$25 isn't much of an adjustment for Silver. They sell leftover silvers for $50 or more less than gold price after golds are gone so I think $25 is inadequate especially if they made a mistake on top of it. Was your small adjustment better than that?
Nope that was it. At least I don't have to pay shipping again. If silver lives up to their description of what a silver should be I'm sure I'll be fine. Mistakes happen and I'll give them that one if they are currently only selling silvers for 25 less its fair enough.
Am I still a bit bummed to end up not getting gold, yeah... but not going to sit around and stew over it.
Quoted from shicketmaster:I wonder if they shipped golds to a retailer. It might be better to go that route. Planetary seems to sell them at similar or sometimes better pricing than cpr directly.
Yeah I didn't think about that... since they are still on vacation I'll call around and see... the full refund route might be the way to go if a retailer has one for regular price. Good thinking!
Quoted from AndHart120:Just sent the money for mine. I was on the leftovers list. This will be my first playfield swap. Like others have posted, I'm not a fan of that line but I have a nasty planky playfield so this will be 100x better than what I have now. Also considering I basically paid $100 for the game I think it's pretty much a no brainer!
Dang! If only I could find a Whirlwind around here for anywhere near that in any condition.
Quoted from nightsearcher:Got my notice, trilogy package trilogy package shipped, don't really need it , but what the F''k. The proof will be in the pudding , when the TAF is shipped ...promised the absolute best . If isn't, that's it spending my kids inheritance monry
Yeah Addams sounds amazeballs! Fortunately after that they don't have any other playfields I'm interested in in the pipe at the moment so can sit on the sidelines a while.
Quoted from codered9394:Does cpr offer the trilogy package before you pay or is this something you have to ask for. Want to get all I can get the first time.
They basically list what is available and the prices. You look up shipping on their table, then add that to the package you want then send a payment for that amount and include which package your buying in a note.
Glad to hear folks are happy with the silvers. Out of sight marks don't bother me. I had opted to exchange my bronzy gold for a silver back when I first got it... hopefully will get something soon but still have not heard anything back.
Hi all! I’ll be putting an ad up later today but have a CPR Silver Whirlwind playfield I had bought anticipating a game that didn’t materialize. Now I’m moving and need to clear out items I’m not using so selling. I’ll take some photos when I put the ad up but it’s never used, taken out of the box for a couple weeks then put back in and stored in the house.
Will be asking 800 obo, thanks!
Edit: ad with photos up:
