Quoted from Hougie:

It should definitely overlap the lip of that ramp. Otherwise, what's the point of it?

Amen !
On the pic .. useless.

Intresting !! I also figgured out that the new repro fan is not as strong as the original.
With some luck I could get a NOS one and will test the difference ... also with the guide here to tweak the repro fan !

Thank you ...... please pics

Or try to get a real CPR Backglas with mirror effect. More expensive but a very nice must have on WhiWi.

New Decals and you will get a nice pin.

Restoring my ww cabinet and trying to make warning text on backbox without silkscreening. Here is step by step process in images

Looks great !
Is this a plottet foil ?
Can you share the image file ?

Very bad luck !
You can send the edges with 1000 sandpaper flat and install a cliffy, it will last the next years !! Maybe a little peace of mylar to support.
Bad luck but easy fixable !

contact Classic Arcades......he does not have the spinner decal listed right now .........but he does have them
http://www.ebaystores.com/Classic-Arcades-Inc/_i.html?_nkw=whirlwind&submit=Search&_sid=4026039

And just biy over eBay !! No direct dealing otherwise you might never get your purchased stuff. At least in the old days Jeff was a p.i.t.a. to deal with ....

Quoted from yaksplat:

Has anyone picked up the CPR mirrored back glass for Whirlwind? Or any other mirrored one in that case. I'm curious about how they look.

WhiWi is byside with TZ and TAF a keeper in my collection. Yes, I have the mirrored glas. It looks great but only people involved in pinball will see the difference !
I also have a custom made mirrorglas in TZ, also looking great. I love the effect that mirror looks trough in some areas !
It is worth the money ...

Quoted from pencilneck:

A short film staring my Whirlwind:

Very nice work !
BUT .. are you shaking the poor pin or the camera ?!

Quoted from GRUMPY:

Get some spot light sockets and reflectors to add some more light to the playfield.

Why ??
WhiWi is great as it is ... without the rainbow puke shitty LED !!

#3070 4 years ago
Quoted from jmountjoy111:

You realize spotlights are white light and not colored correct? Therefore they cannot be, as you like to say, "rainbow puke." Good call though on down voting people based on you not knowing what you are talking about. Congrats on being the guy to get his panties in a bunch... There is always at least one

29 years it was great to play a Whirlwind as it is with old school bulbs.
Now we are in the days to get 21 Cent LED´s from China and every "pinballenthusiast" feels like a gamedesigner while sticking cold white lightnings in the GI and horrible colors all over the pin.

I am not as stupid and dump as you believe and I also know what you mean with spotligts .. but why ?
WhiWi is **NOT** a dark game .... play an Alien and we talk about a dark game. So there is no , rely no , need for any LED in WhiWi ... nor in GI, nor in switched lamps and nor additional lamps.
Also .. no need for stadium lights .. I am over 50 yeras old, reading newspaper with glasses ... at least I wear glasses while playing pinball but still, no need for extra lightning.

So you can put in your WhiWi wehatever LED you want ... my beauty is still on bulbs like all my pins expect the ones which came with LEDs

Quoted from jmountjoy111:

Times change. Pinball machines used to have all electro mechanical components. They worked just fine so I guess we should’ve left them like that. You you have fun staying in the past.

Yep, that why I call my machines all "old school" ... onliest point for china ledíng is the heat in comparison to bulbs .. but my machines are not 24 hours in a bar .. just for hours in the gameroom.

Quoted from yzfguy:

What the hell is WhiWi ?! Are we all going to make up our own game abbreviations now?

What is the official abbreviation ?! What is your abbreviation ? So for me WhiWi is clearly ..... and WH2O would be Whitewater.

WW Waterworld 1995 Gottlieb
WW Whirlwind 1990 Williams
WW Whitewater 1993 Williams
WW Whitewood Technical term

Other nice idea for you:

It's in the game flyer:
[quoted image]

In this flyer there is a clear starpost with a white rubber to see !
Copy the picture on your computer and zoom in ...
No tapered rubber on WhiWi !

The conversion takes place in the plug you have in the hand on picture 3.
You need a tool to unlock the pins and change in accordance to the manual. There should be a correct "how to plu" for each country.

The fuse holder is very funny .. you can buy a new one in mostly all parts shops.
Looks dangerous .... yes, we germans love the risk Fix it !

Welcome to the club !

Quoted from EStroh:

Wow, that would be very cool.
I have put Pinsound systems into several games (WH20, Black Rose, Getaway, T2) and have made several complete new sound packages for all of them (some I've made available on the Pinsound site).
Changing a sound package on a machine makes it feel like a WHOLE NEW GAME. I can't wait to put a Pinsound board - and shaker - on WW!

Did you do Whirlwind in Stereo ?
This might also very cool for the "Whirlwind ReWrite Project".
We have stereosound in the machines but no usable files. The mono files sounds as bad in normal WhiWi as in the ReWrite machines .....
