Hi guys,
I bought a Whirlwind recently and have few minor problems (no gi on the upper playfield, factory settings at each start, the topper and fan are present but the fan don't turn, and a huge cleaning and plastics swap are required)
I have 2 wires free in the backbox, is it normal?
Thanks

Quoted from mbaumle:

Also, Shadrac, I had similar issues with my Whirlwind. I found that the lack of GI was a combination of cold solder joints on the relay board under the playfield, and a flaky connector.
Factory settings on each startup sounds like a bad battery holder to me. I'd just remove it and either install NVRAM or mount a new battery pack off the board.
The topper requires a satellite board in conjunction with the driver transistor to function properly. The board is mounted literally right on the top of the inside of the backbox. Sometimes it's missing.
Also, Planetary Pinball has new reproduction plastics in stock, I believe. Get them before it's too late!

Thanks mate!
You deserve a french kiss too
