Can anyone tell me if once you hit all 3 drop targets are they supposed to reset. Right now they only reset at the start of the next ball. I thought they did before but now I'm not sure. Thank you in advance for any help.

They for sure should reset everytime and give you 100,000 bonus for sweeping them all at once. Sounds like one of the targets isn't registering, the machine can only see 2 out of the 3 targets are down. Check the switches on the targets along with any wires that may have come loose from switches.

Where are the way off repros from? I bought from pinball center, they are crap and totally off.

I’m not sure where they came from, they were on the game. The nos decals play so much different though, they really grab the ball. Completes the game for me.

Pretty sure this is where I got 'em when I restored my pin:
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/31-1536-574

They will alter the path of the ball during operation and as best I can tell, they are the same as the worn out ones I removed.

Those look like the ones I pulled off.

Colors are a bit different, but that could be due to the old ones suffering from fade. The textured surface felt more or less the same overall.

Look good.. my nos ones almost feel like leather or something. The ones that were on it were a hard clear plastic with bumps on it. Didn’t really grip the ball st all.

Picked up a whirlwind last weekend and have it playing solid after rebuilding the power supply and some small adjustments. My top glass on the display is somewhat dim even after sealing the 39k resistors. I will be replacing the display sometime soon but curious to see some phots of rottendog vs xpin. Wondering if the blue looks any good?

Im woundering if these spinner decals are close to the original. Looking for some nos or something close.

#2973 4 years ago

I've never seen any repos that are close to the original. The ball doesn't get grabbed like it used to.

That’s why I keep my originals on the game, even though I would love to have brand new ones.

Im looking for set of nos spinner decals if anyone has a set. I agree with everyone here that the aftermarket set will not move the ball like the originals. Wish someone could make a set.

Howdy, my spinner stopped rotating the Super Cellar Door Value. When I checked it out one of the wires had broken off. Can anyone tell me where this wire should go in the photo?

I was recently working my way through the solenoid tests and found that 05 23 and 05 25 where not flashing the lighting flashers. I believe the only light that lights up of the 5 flashers in this photo is the one on the right when 05 26 is on (in the photo it looks like the second is on, but i believe thats the light behind it). Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this? I did change the bulbs.

For your first issue, it looks like this connection has no wire, must be there??

Thanks for checking it out. I see how the photo looks like that, but it does not look like it came from there in person. Hmm. I think it must be to the right side of the switch immediately to its left?

According to the switch matrix that should be the first switch in the green / blue column.

You don't connect switch wires to lamp wires. I don't even know what kind of mess this would cause, but it would be very bad.

Follow this yellow wire and see if it connects to a green/blue wire. If it does, then connect it to where my arrow is pointing.

Still trying to learn about how to address this issue with my lightning lighting. I see in the Solenoid table the following details for rows 23 and 25. Any suggestions on where to start next or resources to learn how to trouble shoot this? I have reseated the cables and replaced the bulbs.

Thank you Grumpy, dmacy and mageek. The yellow line does go from the switch (NE) to its left to the next switch (NW) which does connect to a green/blue wire. Ill go ahead and give it a shot tonight connecting it to the right side of the NE switch. Appreciate the details.

During game play it appears the two lights on the right function correctly and provide lightning at different times with the lower row of general illumination turning off and on. I dont believe any of the other three lights on the center and left ever light. I assume they should be lighting up when the other two are.

You should start at the light board, sometimes the sockets lose good contact with the board. Bend the little tabs up and swap the sockets from the left side to the right and test. Reflow the solder at the header pins and where the lamp sockets make contact with the board, and re-pin or replace the connector. Then start working back to the source which is the sound overlay board J4.

Thank you. You helped me to the wires shortly before the sound overlay board where it looks like some sort of "repair" was made previously. Next time I have more than a few minutes I will start there.
