Working on a Whirlwind project.

When the ball goes into the cellar it is supposed to be shot out shortly enter it goes under the playfield. The coil works and shoot the ball but it takes 3 or 4 tries, sometimes more, to give it enough boost to get it out of the hole and back onto the playfield..

Coil need to be replaced? Any other suggestions?

Yes should fire back out in one try and timed with some sounds. I wouldn’t expect the coil itself at first (though no harm in ohming it out). I’d check mechanical things such as alignment, dirty coil sleeve etc.

Make sure The coil bracket is tight with no loose or missing screws.

Align the mech, replace coil sleeve, clean the trough area there. Most likely not the coil
