have a chance to trade my hook straight up for a nice south park and was wondering if everyone thought that was a good idea

I’d say that was the best idea ever.
I’ve owned like 200 pins ... Hook has the record for fastest ever out the door. I like most DE pins, but that one was a dog.
South Park gets grief for its simple ruleset ... but it’s fun to play and it still earns out on site. Always popular around my place.
If the South Park is good condition make the deal.

Do it. Hook's artwork and callouts make me feel nauseated. A cross dresser on the TRANSlite is not the art I want on a pin. And the callouts from the movie don't belong on a pin.
Yeah if you are thinking in a manner of movements you are taking a lateral step by trading Hook with SP. At least you are not taking a step backwards. South Park is an OK game nothing extraordinary. Now if you liked Hook, you'll enjoy South Park for it's simplicity. You can always go up after that.
thank you all.im gonna do it i love my hook and it is in prestine shape but do loom foward to killing kenny lol
Sounds like a good trade, go for it! I like trading pins, once you’ve had fun with one, move on to the next. Have fun
Do you have the new Hook code update that was just released? If not, put it in there... fixes a bunch of bugs and breathes new life into the game. Then after you tire of it, trade it.
I haven't played Hook. I have played South Park, I find it annoying, especially the match (which I guess you wouldn't have to listen to when you own it). Hook is one of my favorite movies.
I would keep hook with chads code
But only for sentimental reasons
But must admit mine was gone in a few weeks
I don’t ever remember playing a Hook but I would love to own a South Park someday. I could never get tired of hearing Mr. Mackey’s random Mmmm Kays
Quoted from misterschu:I haven't played Hook. I have played South Park, I find it annoying, especially the match (which I guess you wouldn't have to listen to when you own it). Hook is one of my favorite movies.
You can’t judge a pin only by its theme. You have to play it first. I hate South Park but the pinball machine itself is WAY better than the hook pinball machine.
Quoted from radfordian3505:what do you guys think.i think it looks a lil rough but definitely trading up.im kinda torn right now
Cab's a little rough but not too bad. Pf could use a nice clean and maybe some touch ups but I would still take the deal.
Looks like most South Parks, typical wear. Should clean up nice. Get the Cliffy's for the ball drops. I like South Park better than Hook. Hook is just a beautiful looking pinball game, that sux to play.
$20 pair of metal flipper button covers and the cabinet sides will look fine. Tear it down, clean it, LED and you'll be all set.
I'd pass on that trade. That SP is heavily routed. Worn playfield, worn side art, planking up upper cabinet, sound problems. It's kind of a beater. Your Hook is clean with no problems. Even if SP plays a little better, I wouldn't want that SP.
If the SP was just as clean as the Hook I'd want the SP. In this instance I'd want the Hook.
Quoted from Jenniebear:Does Mr Hankey have his arms?
If not, he’s readily available on eBay. I bought one for like $20 shipped. It’s just a keychain with holes drilled in it.
I owned SP and if got old once I got it all fixed up and working. I’ve put about 20 games in on a hook and it’s on my “if I find it for a steal” list. Neither are keepers but have their place in a 4+ pin collection.
I have both Hook and South Park. Hook is a completely different game with Chads new code.
In saying that both are good machines. South Park is pretty basic but if you like the TV show will love the machine.
I would pick South Park if it was me but still love hook.
I wouldnt call that South Park "NICE" its needs a lot of work. I would want cash on top if it was me.
Trying to sell either will be hard unless you sell cheap. I’d just try to sell hook and look for something else.
IMO both totally are bottom barrel pins. SOOOOO many better out there.
Quoted from Blackbeard:For HOOK?!?!?!?!
That's what it was listed for in his market place ad.
Quoted from radfordian3505:will you give me 2500
No, but if this deal for the South Park doesn't happen, send me a PM and we'll talk.
