I realize that there are several best or most satisfying shot threads, but which shot sounds the best? Make the best, thump, clunk, etc...
Some of my favorites:
TAF - Thing scoop
TAF - Vault
LOTR - Orthanc
WH20 - No Way Out

Any shot that makes a real bell ring is music to my ears. Also the gobble holes on Flipper makes a unique sound as it circles around the metal ring before it drops into oblivion.

The scoop on Bride of Pinbot makes a very satisfying thunk

Love the sound of a coffin lock on BSD.

Start Mission/Jackpot shot on STTNG. Music to my ears when you hit it with that mix of clunk/thump.

No question in my mind - the SUPERCHARGER loop on HS2 - The Getaway...

For me, a tie -
A perfect shot to the TZ Piano - CLUNK.
Or a perfect shot to the TAF Vault - CLUNK.

Both are satisfying.

Trap Door on ToM. You hear the squeak and hurry to thunk the ball, then hear it slam shut. It like a three part shot with a prize at the end.

TAF: Scoop and vault.

I've said something similar elsewhere. Feels awesome as well with the FF sub system.

AC/DC Bell

Sparky

And another one that may be a bit biased is the claw save on Freddy when it's hit squarely enough to launch the ball into the glass :p

on Black Hole when you lock a ball on the lower playfield, it makes a very satisfying "floomp" noise.

#13 7 years ago

I like the scoop off of the left loop on DM a lot

#14 7 years ago

TAF Vault. STTNG Mission start, BSD Coffin.

#15 7 years ago

Shelter on ES. Mirror on FH. I like on TAF when Thing drops the ball into the box below and heads through the swamp. Small wheel scoop on BoP.

#16 7 years ago

I like the captive ball on Fireball. Any way you nudge it, an EM is going to win this debate.

Going in the crate on Scared Stiff has a pretty satisfying sound

yes i love that squeak sound!

Locking the ball on Road Show has a terrific sound.

I always liked the sound when you slam the ball up the little metal ramps on 80's pins, like FG and HH.

#21 7 years ago

I don't know why but the sound and feel of hitting the metal ramps on metallica is sweet. Just gives a weird cutting edge feeling, fun to hit.

#22 7 years ago

Theatre of Magic tiger captive ball. It make a nice hard 'tick', and also the machine helps with a very nice 'cunk' effect.

#23 7 years ago

I'm a fan of the final shot to start multi-ball on Big Guns. You get a nice kachunk landing it in the middle kickout hole, then a fusillade of solenoids firing and the sweet song of three balls in a row flying down the catapult return rails to the flippers.

Also seconding the Crate on Scared Stiff, the sound that thing makes is super satisfying.

The Shadow - Mongol Scoop. When shot from the upper right flipper.

#25 7 years ago

Can't believe no one has said, but the sound effect from the Venom ramp in SM is the best for me.

I prefer the thunk when you slam home a computer shot from the UL flipper.

#27 7 years ago

BDK - hitting the joker target just sounds / feels right on that game.

#28 7 years ago

I'm not really a fan of IJ, but I always liked nailing the captive ball for Super Jackpot for a nice clunk.

#29 7 years ago

Creature Snackbar for the win.

Plenty of good suggestions in this thread though I agree with most of 'em.

#30 7 years ago

Xmen - Xavier shot and scoop. Klink! Followed by a super VUK to the ramp. Love it.

Mustang: left ramp is bitchin! + the diverter for LE/prem models.

#32 7 years ago

Abra Ca Dabra. For the EM win. Hitting the lit centre Bulls-Eye. Ca-chunk! 10 re-set Drop Targets to knock down again. Always makes me smile. Especially when it awards a 'Special'.

I second this!!! - Center ramp - squeak, smack, thunk

The STERN screeching noise when you earn a replay... oh wait I thought you said what shot makes the worst sound a la clunk.

Oh yeah, it satisfies like a Snicker's bar. It's even better when you nail it 3x in a row from the left turret before multiball. That clunk, along with the game's sound effects make you feel like a badass.

*Kaboom kaboom kaboom*
Worf: super jackpot!
Picard: all hands prepare for multiball!

Taxi drac catapult. And also the bell on taxi.

#38 7 years ago

Lots of mentions for TAF's scoop and vault, but nobody has mentioned the sound the diverter makes when it slaps against the cabinet for Thing Flips? I love that!

#39 7 years ago

I enjoy the clang of the tspp garage door.

The jackpot sound during tspp itchy and scratchy multi ball is great (not a clunk though)

The center shot into the scoop on stng is pretty nice too

#40 7 years ago

I agree with TOM, and I also like a solid thunk to the funhouse mirror scoop.

#41 7 years ago

TAF Vault! is the best hands down

#42 7 years ago

Fish Tales Caster's Club

#43 7 years ago

In EBD, the bank shot sound is very cool, but the chugging sound of a 5X bonus collect for a saucer shot is the best!

#44 7 years ago

Any air ball that tinks the glass is awesome. Scares the crap outta ya nearly everytime. Thats the wild nature of pinball at its best

#45 7 years ago

Rollergames has a satsifying shot at 11'o'clock - don't remember what it's called. I think there's a magnet under it.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the shot in Swords of Fury that makes it say LIONMAN!!!

#48 7 years ago

AFM lock shot or saucer.

DM "computer" shot.

It has that sound like running a knife along a sharpener. Totally metal \m/

TS: shadow loop to khan multiball start.
