Quoted from HydrogenHuman:I spoke to Steve Young I believe his name is at PBR earlier, and I ordered just a traditional rubber kit to start off. He was very helpful, (he pointed me to Pinwiki which is an excellent resource!) but I got the feeling he was leery of me because I'm so new to owning a machine, haha.
I have never called them but they are always great via email! I have heard that they can be grumpy sometimes on the phone but sounds like you got through OK.
Honestly with shipping costs I wait until I am looking at the machine before making an order. I always forget something! When I first got started in the hobby I would replace items that didn't need replacing. Now that I know what to look for I usually evaluate the parts before just replacing them. Also sometimes the newer parts aren't as good or as accurate.
Things like flipper rebuild kits are pretty expensive but sometimes you just need plunger links or coil stops. Honestly Gottliebs are built like tanks and you may be good to go!
You should order a new pinball or however many balls your game takes. Those are pretty important to keep fresh to prevent play field wear.
