Which pins have a kickback? Is there a list? Which is your favorite and why?

#3 9 years ago

If Steve Richie has anything to do with it, chances are there's a kickback.

#4 9 years ago

That list doesn't look complete. Jurassic Park isn't listed, for example.

The only two pins that I have significant experience with are Jurassic Park and F-14 Tomcat. I'm not sure about other games that have them, but F-14 gives you "Flight Insurance" for when the kickback sends it right down the drain. And Jurassic Park does the same, in what I call "Raptor Insurance".

It says "too many matches" so that means there are way more than that.

You could select "Bally" and then "kickback" to further expand the search.

That's not what that "too many matches" message means. If you do a search that yields a small or medium results list (e.g., http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=slugger&sortby=name&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick), all of the individual game pages from the search results are displayed on the search results page -- as opposed to just a list of the games with links.

All of the search results that IPDB is aware of based on entered data are on the page you linked. Unfortunately, the data is far from complete. Off the top of my head, Corvette is another one not on the list. I'm sure there are lots more.

"Too many matches to display all individual records." - I always thought that meant that there were too many matches to display, lol.

Looks like we have to all chip in an make sure we have updated IPDB - [ Submit Changes ] box in the upper left.

(although I have uploaded many manuals and rubber guides that they have never bothered to publish......)

What about the War Machine kickback on IM?

#16 9 years ago

What are we defining as a kickback? Are you talking about the machine relaunching the ball if you lose it quickly (like JP does after a lost ball from a raptor shot,) or the literal "ball launcher turned into a toy on the playfield" like the JP raptor kick or LAH ripper, or the left outlane ball save where it shoots the ball back into play when lit, like on NGG, Stargate, Frankenstein, etc?

Rocky and Bullwinkle. DE Simpsons.

Defender

(manual skill shot on left out-lane)

ST Premium does - and it's awesome.

#20 9 years ago

Left outlane ball save, kicking it back into the playfield like in Super Mario Bros. and Big Guns my favorites.

#21 9 years ago

Add GNR to the list

#22 9 years ago

re-lighting the kick back on BG is such a pita. its basically saving the queen...

#23 9 years ago

T2, Lethal Weapon, Robocop, Getaway just to name a few.

#24 9 years ago

Firepower

#25 9 years ago

That list @ The IPMD is listing any pin with a kickback in it's listing. I have a surf 'n safari which has kickback targets, but not a left outlane kickback save into the playfield. So I tried outlane kickback and it still doesn't list my Super Mario Bros.???????

#26 9 years ago

not sure about the database, but some of the ones listed above are wrong with how you are defining the kickback term. JP doesn't have an outlane kickback.

#27 9 years ago

Far Out

Yeah, I thought he was referring to those things that launch the ball back at you. Like the General Yagov shot in F-14 or the Raptor shot in JP.

#29 9 years ago

Add Swords of Fury to the kickback list.

#30 9 years ago

I added a couple of EM's. Gay 90's and Far Out.

Which pins have a kickback?

The ones that Tony Soprano sells. HO

#32 9 years ago

Hot Doggin'

Played one in a tourney with the lower right post removed. Without the kickback lit, say goodnight, Gracie.

How could you forget Baywatch - Laser Kick ?

Defender
(manual skill shot on left out-lane)

Defender has the most satisfying kickback I have ever seen. It being a manual kickback that you have to actually time yourself is great when you pull it off. It's even better if you get a fast ball going into the drain area that goes over to the left far enough and you kick it back into play. WOOT!!!

#36 9 years ago

Al's Garage Band Goes On A World Tour, Metal Man, Mach 2

#37 9 years ago

Stargate. Rollergames.

#38 9 years ago

On Fireball it is simply called a "kicker".

#39 9 years ago

I love the kickback. TFTC and my new favorite Star Trek it returns. Nice touch.

#40 9 years ago

Pinball Magic

#41 9 years ago

Secret Service

#43 9 years ago

Eight Ball, F-14, 4 Million BC, and probably about another 125 games.

#45 9 years ago

Love the strategy element on kickback - once you've used it, youhave to decide if should you risk trying to get it back, or forget about it and move on.

#46 9 years ago

Mousin' Around, Radical!.

Hook ?

I really like the kickback on strange science. It's a manual system that you have to light and then trigger with a button to kick the ball from the outlane back into the inline. Makes it a lot more exciting then just having a free save given to you.

I've never played this game but that is cool. All of them should be manual like that. It's more interactive and adds an element of skill.
