Someone from Pinside has to win it, right?

I figured I’d have to buy an HEP Twilight Zone to honor the powerball.

Then with the rest maybe just buy a pinball company?

Goin' Nuts, i love the art on this game

Railroad steam engine. Though I may not need to run it anymore. So it will be in my living room.

T Rex skeleton, so I can put a santa hat on it during Christmas. Or an animatronics one, cheaper and I can run it around my living room.

Air pinball tournament at Expo. 10 people lined up. Playing air pinball for two minutes, with numbers on their backs. Audience votes for best one. Winner gets $100,000.

    Good luck Pinsiders !

I'd start with one of everything.
And a yacht to hold them.

    #6 1 year ago

Unfortunately, you will only end up with 1/3 of the total pot after all the Gov hands take their cut.

I would submit a good chunk to the 4 top Pin makers in the USA.

    I'd prefer a 747.

This has me rolling right now.

    All of them.

I'd buy a pin of their choice for my top 20 pinsiders. Don't ask. I wanna surprise you if you're one

    #11 1 year ago

The odds of winning the lottery are less than they are for being struck by lightning or being hit by a meterorite.
People that play the lottery will tell you that you can't win if you aren't in (which is true).

I thought it would be great. People lined up, leaning over their imaginary pinball machine. Doing their favorite maneuvers. Copying famous players. Doing the Schatz !

    It would be memorable.

If I'm one of your top 20. Please make it your top 21 pinsiders, and pass me over and give it to the next one.

    Thank you.

King Kong! Probably would pay off my house first though. Actually maybe Alien. Hm. Blade Runner!

    #15 1 year ago

I'd buy or build a bowling alley full of "pins" and put in a huge game room area with pinball machines.
May not make any money but would be a good tax deduction.

I'm pretty sure this would be the first of it's kind. They do air guitar competitions I guess, so there is SOME precedent!

I wouldn’t buy any pins. I’d just buy JJP, Stern, American Pinball, etc. And, then, the only pins we would have are those approved (and designed) by me. Hello Minecraft pin, here we come.

    #18 1 year ago

Not “pins”, “companies” should be the question.

I’d buy AP Day 3 of being convinced I’m still anonymous. Then I’d only change like 10% of their business model. Then I’d bring a real good value of theme, BoM, and quality to the market to right this ship.

… but you think it’s for you. No. It’s for me. I get my dream themes, I get to play pinball for work the rest of my life, and in 30 years from now I’m chugging vodka at trade shows and your kids are asking my drunk ass for translite and apron autographs.

A casino-sized pinball and arcade museum with a large and well-paid staff of techs. One of everything would be the philosophy. It would drain money like soap suds going down the bathtub drain, but that's cool, if I could play a role in keeping the arcade experience going well into the 21st century, that would be time well spent.

    #20 1 year ago

Pretty much my entire wishlist + another 20 or so pins I would want because I have a billion dollars lol

    #21 1 year ago

I'd hire all the Hawaiian Tropics girls and train them to be my personal chefs, maids, nannies, gardeners, chauffeurs, and pinball techs. "Yeah. I think it's time to wax those playfields again."

A friend of mine was struck by lightning twice. And he just had a heart attack at 49. That guy is due for some good luck.

    #23 1 year ago

I won $4 woohoo. So much for buying any new pins.

    #24 1 year ago

It's almost enough to get a Toy Story 4 CE

    ducking for cover

This article would beg to differ.

I’d start a pinball company, and take preorder money. Let that lottery experience live on daily!

    Good thing I don’t play.

Don’t cash in that ticket yet Lethal_Inc The drawing was delayed until Tuesday morning.

My friend, with 2 billion dollars I will create my own pinball factory

That's the problem with your lottery , you lose money to tax and don't they pay it out over years if you want the whole amount of whatever is left .
Over here , you get the whole amount tax-free straight away .

Now we're talking , and I would also get the Blues Brothers pin made .

    #32 1 year ago

I'd commission someone to build me a trailer trash themed pin.

Statistically, it's pretty close odds to just win a few million by random chance than by purchasing a Powerball ticket. That's my plan.

    #34 1 year ago

Now I will have money like oligarch. All of your pinball are belong to me!

    #35 1 year ago

As much as I love pinball, if I was an instant Billionaire, buying pinball machines would be the last thing on my mind.

    I did not win.

I’m stuck with my current lineup.

    #38 1 year ago

The winning ticket was bought about an hour from me. It wasn't my ticket, but I would have bought you all pins if it were!

Too bad. I was hoping you got my two bucks.

I would just pay Keith Elwin whatever he and his team wants to help me make a few boutique games. They say it costs about 1million to design and build a game. Screw having a license to deal with, I would only build 5 or less of each and never sell one (just take them to shows)

Harry Potter with hand drawn art, and possibly Jim Dale to do the voicework
Ghostbusters (It could have been better, and I wouldnt have had to feel icky about the designer)
Toy Story 1-3 (we all know TS4 could have been better)
Ferrari, make it the fastest best handling pin ever.

Assuming I could stay anonymous and not change my house/lifestyle too much to raise my family like normal people I'd stay limited to 6. I just did a "tour of my arcade" and it still took an hour. I would rotate them out more often though. At the moment I'd switch out my Flash Gordon or Bad Cats for a nice Whirlwind and add a few real arcades I'd pay someone to move in for me. Nothing crazy, just a San Francisco Rush, Outrun, and standing Afterburner. Maybe a Star Wars Battlepod in the guest bedroom. You know.. reasonable. I'd throw in a Lase Jukebox stocked with dream CDs too. Oh, and I'd have my Weird Al teleported in so I didn't have to wait.

What I would do is open up a mini-golf/ arcade style place 30 minutes from my house, have my dream vintage arcade in a section of it there. I'd have it set up no booze and kid friendly/birthday party friendly/ church group friendly every day until 6 oclock and then adult oriented after 6 with booze for the drinking pinball happy people. I'd come in early to have the place to myself when I wanted it and keep prices cheap with machines taking quarters at 50 cents per game max. I don't care if it makes money. I like the idea of sharing my hobby, and this seems like a great way to do it. I grew up in an arcade minigolf place like this and there is nothing equivelant in the DC/Baltimore area. I'd pay the local route operators to keep everything running as I don't want to take away people's bread and butter. I really enjoy knowing people have fun playing my games and the shows and will keep doing that in the interim.

Also, on the stupid money level I'd go to the next Comic Con and pick out an artist to do a reskin of an EM, probably Surf Champ and have them illustrate it with my family.

    Fun question.

I wonder how many "Rare" titles you could have made?

    King Kong
    Loch Ness
    ThunderBall

    Etc...
