Here I go again with another question because I'm looking to add a pin to my collection. I have an EATPM and The Getaway HS2, both of which I plan on keeping, my space and funds are limited and 3 pins is my max. I had the opportunity to trade for or buy a Shadow in players condition, a CFTBL in need of work but still is in pretty good shape but I now have my eye on the new Ghostbuster, probably a pro due to price (I feel the GB premium would be a great choice too but that price point is making it difficult for me to afford). So, what one do you think would be the best option with my current line up?

Thanks!

GB Pro. or Wait till a HUO Premium comes up.

A Minty Shadow dialed in is a good choice too.....

GB all the way.

I have CFTBL and Shadow. Between the two, I'd pick Shadow. CFTBL is a fun game, of course.

If you need to buy a new machine, GB is probably a good choice. But you can always get a Shadow or CFTBL and sell it down the road for roughly what you paid and then get a GB. This plan wouldn't work as well if you start with GB.

I agree. They will be making GB for a while and picking one up down the road won't be difficult. Both TS and CFTBL are great pins that you shouldn't lose money on. Buy either, play the heck out of it and then sell/trade it for GB later on. CFTBL will give you longer ball times, but TS is a flow machine when you are "on". Can't go wrong with either.

You don't want creech in small collection. I had shadow when my collection was small and it worked very well.

Go for The Shadow now (awesome game), and get a GB premium in HUO condition in a couple of years for the same price as the NIB pro!

You already have enough Bally/Williams games time to get a Stern mix it up a little. Or get a used Mettalica, not on your list but such a great game.

I would go with a Shadow now,and in a year,get a good working GBpre!

I have a GB. And had a shadow.
For pure enjoyment of gameplay for others. I would pick Shadow.

GB has really good code out of the gate. But if your friends aren't that great at Pinball they will hate Ghostbusters. It honestly isn't fun for kids or new players. It's very frustrating for them.

Of course if the question was, "What order should I buy these games in?" The answer would be TS/CFTBL and then GB.

If youre not planning on selling anytime soon I would pick GB over the others considering the games you own. You might lose a few hundred on GB if you decide it's not for you, but that should be expected.

Short of a pinball market meltdown, GB Premiums will never be <$5k. They may dip <$6k.

It took me a while to get into CFTBL but I absolutely love it now. In fact, it's the next title I'm looking to purchase. However, I see people dislike it when they try it at first for whatever reason. Shadow on the other hand is approachable, fast and easy to get into quickly. For that reason alone, I voted shadow. GB will be easy to pick up for a while. Just my thoughts. Good luck!

I owned CFBTL and TS in a small (4 pin) collection. Shadow theme and movie weren't very special but the pin itself is great, fairly deep and for me it was very challenging. Although not as inexpensive as they used to be, still overall a very solid bang for buck pin. It's very unique and even though I thought the move was mediocre the animations and sounds are very well integrated from the movie.

I also really like Creech including the 50's feel of a drive in movie theater, gameplay, art and sounds. Some don't like that is has only a two ball multiball, but it's challenging and I never minded that. Hard to find one in great or even shape for a decent price. I'm really sorry I sold mine and miss it probably as much, if not more than any pin I've ever sold. But I only have room for 4 pins and so keep even my favorite ones around 1.5-2 years with the exception of Pinbot which I had for 6-7 years.

GB theme does nothing for me at all but theme and art are always subjective and you might really like it so could be a good choice. I admit I haven't played one so I have no real idea how good it is. I'm glad to see a Trudeau Stern pin getting some excitement as WWE was very bad and Mustang was okay, IMO. However, it's hard to get a feel this early what is hype versus the long term desire for how this game will stand up in home use settings and small collections.

Just seems too early to tell if GB will be a great pin overtime or if in a few months when the hype and honeymoon phase is over for many, how it will be seen. However, others rankings aren't vital to what you might or might not like. That said if GB is your dream theme and much more interesting than the other two, maybe that's a great choice for you. If there's anyway you could play all 3 that could really help.

All great advise, thank you all. I'm in a holding pattern until Pinfest, I'll have some cash burning a hole in my pocket so hopefully it be a little more clear after the show. Having said that, GB is the only Pin of the 3 I haven't played but it is a work of art and the hype train is running wild atm. Sure a few of the reviews gives me some pause; however, there is only one way to find out for sure and that's to play the game. If GB isn't what I had hoped for I think the Shadow is the way I would go, Creature for the Theme but the Shadow for the play... I see why some of you have so many pins in your collections.

5 months and still holding? I see what you are saying. Why have just one? For me space is limited. I will limited games to the game room only. Enjoying Getaway ( still playing it in its lame state ). Want more, but what? Want a different theme than Getaway, but I want get anything else until all is resolved on Getaway. Keep me posted on what you want to do.
