Transformers or AC/DC both (PRO)

#2 12 years ago

If pro is the choice either way, I gotta go ACDC, even though I haven't played it.

TF LE is awesome, though.

#3 12 years ago

AC/DC, unless your into the Transformers theme! Do some research only you can decide! I didn't care for Transformers as i thought it was to repetitive for a newer pin. If I want repetitive I'd stay home and play my High Speed, great fast playin pin but again repetitive. I do like the topper that you can get for the Transformer though, it was tight looking!

#4 12 years ago

Transformers get it later though and save a few hundred,

#5 12 years ago

AC/DC for sure.

#6 12 years ago

Not an AC/DC fan and there are various things I don't like about the Pro...........but, I just loved playing it.......so intense!!!

#8 12 years ago

Already have a BBH

#9 12 years ago

Pro? Transformers. I like it better than the LE.
Haven't played AC/DC but would go with the LE on that one.

#10 12 years ago

Between AC/DC Pro and TF Pro I would probably go AC/DC. It's pretty fun. Played one at the factory a few weeks ago...

But again, it all comes down to personal preference. (TF was not my cup o' tea)

if you don't know, you should wait and play both a lot before deciding. it's a pretty major purchase, not wise to base it in the opinions of a bunch of strangers!

What, there are people stranger than me???

#13 12 years ago

Neither one, get a SM or LOTR LE NIB

Yeah, me for one, and I suspect several others here. Or at least AS strange!

AC/DC looks like it is going to be pretty good and definitely a step in the right direction for Stern.

Transformers wasn't for me.

Wait even longer for Resident Evil.

+1

I played both quite a bit recently and, with no definite leaning towards either theme, I'd have to say I enjoyed Tranformers a lot more. Great flow, lots to do, some good toys. Aside from the bell shot on ACDC, I found it quite dull.

the whole recent possibility of me getting an ACDC or TF NIB has me REALLY wanting a new pin. I'm saving every nickel until AVENGERS comes out ( and is amazing, please god ).

hopefully i'll have more than 45 cents by then...

TF LE is awesome, though.

I fully agree with TG - if a TF-LE is an option, go for it. If it's gotta be a pro edition, than AC/DC seems to be the better choice. Good luck!

Finally got a chance to put some decent time into TF. I'd pass personally, it looks nice and sounds nice, but didn't really strike a cord with me. I like Tron way better for sure, out of recent Sterns...the fan layout TF uses can be boring..

Having tried a few games of each, I greatly preferred AC/DC. Just MHO. Can't say I was good enough to explain reasons why in an intelligent way. I just liked the "feel" of AC/DC a lot better... plus even though I'm not a huge AC/DC fan, some of their songs are classics... much better than the sounds/music on Transformers.... again, just MHO. However, I won't ever buy AC/DC because I have kids and the whole devil horns thing, etc. doesn't really work for me. If kids were a factor, I'd go with Transformers.

Keep saving...

Find a nice SM, POTC, or LOTR instead.

How do you like POTC Jar?

The first couple times I played it I didn't care for it at all. Then I played one that was setup properly and loved it. The sinking ship may be the coolest toy in all of pinball. The only major flaw it has is that it only covers the first two movies, but oh well. Not the end of the world.

Only a matter of time before one finds its way into my collection.

Transformers is an awesome pin and a better theme

#32 12 years ago

If it's for the family, then you may want to go w/ transformers or other machine w/ a theme the kids might like. If it's for you & your friends, then try em out playing some games on both and get the one you like the best. Either of the two you mentioned can't be too bad.
Let us know later what you end up buying (or holding off).

+1 New trailer out today. My money is in my hand waiting - please make it awesome.

I'd wait for Avengers.

I have a nib TF LE in NNJ FS

I see what you did there!

Agree with the SM/POTC/SM recs. Would be remiss if I didn't add WPT. (Sorry, I'm like a broken record--for those who remember what that is!) Or, if one is a bit patient, I'd also suggest saving up a bit more for when WOZ comes out, y'know, just in case it really is that killer game!
