So is there a particular mode that you can play a million times and never get sick of? That mode that every time it starts it gets your adrenalin flowing or puts a big smile on your face?

I'll start - mine is Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls," one of the crank it up modes. I love the opening animation, the sound/shaker effect when you hit a shot, the ability to make combos. If I'm in the zone and I start this mode it's pure pinball joy.

    What's yours?

Hoard mode in TWD. One of the best modes in pinball. Hard to get to so keeps you coming back to play the machine time after time.

Metamorphosis on Bride Of Pinbot. The pin goes dark and the heart beat really is awesome to watch. I never tire of it.

Super Seance on TAF. It was pure genius to use the knocker in that way.

Fear of the Dark in Iron Maiden... it’s perfect. Hit a ramp or loop, playfield lights up and rip a spinner. Lights go red, rinse and repeat. Never gets old!

YES! My example of what made the 90's pins classics. While the spooky sounds are playing you're fighting the magnets to get the shots. Then when you make those ramps you get to feel it with the knockers.

Nice. I was thinking DTR but separate modes like Shelob, Ents and Wargs are such fun and so many in one game.

    Move your car!

    Classic funny fun.

For White Water lovers - Bigfoot Hotfoot and Welcome to Wet Willie's.

TZ has some great stuff also, like getting the powerball back into the gumball machine.

It’s not a mode, but when you collect special on Quicksilver.

Get the bonus multiplier to 5x.
Light all the letters of the word Quicksilver if you haven’t already. Knock down the drops on the right drop target bank again. Shoot the ball through the right spinner to collect special.

The game will rack up the 70,000 points for the special, and the high pitched sound slowly increases. When it’s awarded the points it stops scoring and the sound stops (clearing the small rom memory cache?). Then it repeats awarding the 5x by a onus points, the screeching sound slowly getting louder until it feels like it’s going to explode. Stop the scoring and sound. Rinse and repeat for 4x, 3x and 2x.

“Horseshoe” mode on Quick Draw/Fast Draw. How did they not make a solid state version of this game I’ll never know

Yes. Love Destroy the Ring! Always gets the blood pumping.

Jericho on Iron Man, especially with shaker motor and subwoofer. Oh man.

    So many good ones.

I assume OP meant regular and not wizard modes. In that case I’d say barn on TWD and most all the modes on Alice Cooper Nightmare Castle.

    #37 4 years ago

Just realized OP mentioned Crank It Up so I’m wrong

    #38 4 years ago

The Tale of Ali Baba. Nothing like that zigzag combo shot up the playfield.

    #39 4 years ago

System Failure on Jurassic Park. Love when the whole machine just dies.

    #40 4 years ago

I really enjoy Martian Attack. Hammering down the martians, while debating whether you should use that one martian bomb you've been hoarding, starting multiball, and trying to rack up as many kills as possible. Absolutely love it.

Close second: Bigfoot Hotfoot. It's an easy mode, but starting it requires a lot of risk. However, beating it and getting camera craze is super fun, especially when it's stacked with multiball AND 5x.
