Do we know what number machine the playfield and insert issues started? I am about to purchase a MMR Gold with a number in the high 600s and am curious if that machine will be affected. Does anyone know the earliest in the run that the issues started?
    Thank you for your time,

If the machine is in the box and you aren't able to open and inspect it there is not really a good way to know. They jump around on serial numbers and they aren't necessarily produced in order. Inspection is your best bet.

I don't think it will be easy to find out. People who don't have the issue are saying they do, to try and get either some $ back. Or whatever else PPS decides to do about the issue.

Honestly it is not that big of an issue. It's still a new MM with new tech. Not that noticeable. I could care less if I was to buy one.

Just be smart and buy an HUO MMr or original. You'll be able to see what you're getting and save some cash on top of it.

    None of them.

Frankly, it's an overreaction on online forums.

I have #621 built on December 17th, 2015 and it has the insert issue. I haven't heard of one in the 600's that hasn't been affected. Of course there may be one off special request numbers in the 600's that may be fine as long as they were made in one of the earlier batches of MMRs. Also, the black will look fine when it is off so if the seller sends you pics, make sure he turns it on. In all honesty though, i think most of these affected playfields are legible. They are just not as nice of a solid black as the earlier runs. I can read all of my inserts fine when lit, but they are not like the solid black I have seen on earlier runs.

Thank you for all of your help. I got the machine home today and it is actually number 554. The only problem that I am having so far is a sticky left flipper. The flipper flips up correctly and then very slowly returns to the down position. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this issue? Thank you for your time.

Is there any up and down movement? It needs to have some. Move it manually up and down and then through it's normal motion to see if it is mechanical.

Is the return spring broken/unattached on the flipper coil assembly?
