Just curious as to what machine actually has the longest ramps.

I know White Water and Scared Stiff ramps are long but I dont think they have the longest.

Has to be a single ramp not a Plastic /Wireform ramp combo.

Weird question, but the answer may be Baywatch. Mike Chestnut was plating a set of Baywatch ramps and the big one wouldn't fit all the way in the, er, plating ... machine.

Elvira?

#6 10 years ago

That's what I was gonna say, it goes all the way out the back of the machine and then loops back down to the inlanes. Not many ramps have to be in two pieces to work.

Doesn't Hurricane have that one ramp that loops around the back of the machine, comes all the way down the left side, below the flippers and back partway up the right side? Granted it switches to wireform there but that's one big and long piece of plastic.

#9 10 years ago

I was going to say Hurricane as well. Not sure if it's technically correct, but it's one helluva long ramp as far as I'm concerned.

Ohhh Hook. I forgot all about that swirling ramp. Good call.

#12 10 years ago

The main ramp on Dredd is kind of long.

#13 10 years ago

POTC and WH2O have a pretty long ones.

#14 10 years ago

I thought that the CFTBL was the longest ramp in all of pinball?

#15 10 years ago

I believe Godzilla has the single biggest one piece ramp. Not sure if it is the longest.

This would have been my uneducated guess

doesn't NASCAR or one of the car theme pins have a ramp that runs below the flippers, a "lap around the pin"?

#18 10 years ago

Seems like Party Zone has some long ramps. Airborne and Roller Coaster Tycoon also.

I thought about NASCAR on this question too. Nascar pin loop is not technically a ramp. The loop around the playfield is on the playfield. Also some old mechanical pinball machines on launching the ball. The ball has to loop around the playfield once, then roll into the playfield.

Nothing sucks worse than a nice long ramp with a weak flipper

Yea, I've never played one or seen one up close, just read somewhere about the lap loop.

Blackwater 100 goes from the back, left aside the cabinet, past the flippers over the apron, to the lockdown-bar to land on a flipper onthe apron..... very long ramp that is !!

Notice the theme building for so many of these suggestions? Dennis Nordman.

#24 10 years ago

Nascar loops the entire playfield and then a diverter throws the ball into play.

#25 10 years ago

White water

#26 10 years ago

I was thinking of POTC as it is one piece of plastic that starts at the top and comes down both sides.

pinball circus?

#28 10 years ago

I should just ask my friend James of Pinball Inc., he would know.

Shameless plug: pinballinc.com for the best ramps around.

doesn't Flintstones have some really long ramps?

at least if you consider the apron to be part of the ramp...

#30 10 years ago

WCS94 has two long ones as well.

#31 10 years ago

Wow so many different answers. This is developping into a cool thread. My choice was cftbl too. But if it goes round and round like leathal weapon it still counts as length right ?

#32 10 years ago

I also think the flinstones has very long ramps on both sides......they are extremely long ramps ....

#33 10 years ago

Data East's Simpsons ramp is also a big one.

While Hook came to mind immediately, no one has mentioned LW3's ramp that has the two 360 degree spins in it for seemingly no reason yet. It's long.

Just played Godzilla. Seemed that the ball took a good 4 count to go the whole way through, that green one on the right is huge.

Godzilla... 2 entries, 3 exits on the same piece of plastic.
