I don't think you can truly evaluate a game unless both code and design are together for newer pins. Old school eighties pins had simpler code but great layouts that were less dependent upon each other.

I know I'm in the minority here but, I think the newer pins have to much code, to deep for me. I've played Tron, ACDC, etc. and yes they are fun but to many layers. To me it's the play and the ability to figure out how to score effectively within 10-15 games max. With most newer games you have to own the game to figure it out, and even then you may never completely go through all the modes. Takes the fun factor down a notch for me. I just want to relax and enjoy beating the hell out of a game without taxing my brain! I know, I know just another old guy stuck in the past lol
