I'm getting into making a custom pin, and I wanted pick the brains of the greybeards here. I was curious, out of all the brands and eras of flipper mechs, are there any that are clearly superior, in terms of reliability (least maintenance and/or most consistent performance), and which would be cheapest and/or most widely available (and likely to be available for years to come)? I'd prefer to stick with assemblies that have good "control", so the player can perform tap passes and flick passes, which I hear is easier to do on EMs than, say, a JJP, although I suspect that has more to do with how the coils are being driven electrically.
